This is an excellent café and dessert spot perfectly situated for a break while enjoying the park. Whether you’re stopping in for a full meal or just a sweet treat, the quality here is outstanding.
Delicious Menu: The pizza, cookies, and drinks were all phenomenal. It’s the perfect fuel for a day of exploring.
Efficient Service: Despite being in a popular location, the service is quick and the staff is incredibly friendly.

First time at Carmella’s. Super clean and modern atmosphere. Easy to spend a long time enjoying an amazing cup of coffee and dessert. Huge selection of meals, coffees, deserts and even gelatos / sorbets. Tiramisu was amazing!!!

Really enjoyed trying this French style cafe. The Carmel apple cocktail was well balanced. The Southern BLT is the perfect sandwich for a quick bite. Even with long line the staff handled our order with care. Would highly recommend.

I have walked by this place about a year ago, so when staying at a nearby hotel on this visit to Greenville, I knew I wanted to give it a try. I went in right after they opened for the day to grab a cup of coffee and a pastry.
I ordered a small cup of coffee, not any special, funky, crazy coffee or espresso drink – simply coffee. That coffee was one of the worst cups of coffee I’ve ever had. It was thick and sour/bitter tasting. I would assume it was leftover from the night before, but I couldn’t imagine anyone would do this (praying no one would)! Could it be the blend they use? Perhaps, but it’s awful, so I hope not!
The pastry I ordered was the Bombolini… It looked pretty good and when I bit into it, it was amazing! Very tasty and I love the texture of the dough. Definitely a very nice pasty, but it was sad that I couldn’t enjoy coffee with it, though I tried. I tried to take more sips of that coffee, but it was very tough, so I gave up after about 1/3 of the small cup.
Service was decent. The place looked nice but I didn’t eat there, rather I took it to-go and ate in my hotel room and since it was raining, I wasn’t going to go back to complain about the coffee. Would I return? No. I get that they have great reviews, but if you can’t get coffee right, I’m done.

9th anniversary out with the wife. After having the best meal we’ve had in Greenville at Scoundrel, we decided to go get some desserts to go. She got a Toffee cookie which was mediocre, and I got the key lime pie. I don’t know if we got an old one or what but first time I’ve ever had a key lime pie taste “fishy.” Wasn’t expecting that at all on my pallet and very underwhelmed. Had to eat the whip cream to change my taste buds.

Such a cute little café right in the park! They have both indoor and outdoor seating; the outdoor area is pet-friendly, which makes it perfect for a relaxing time.
The coffee was excellent, and we tried the key lime pie, so good, and the portion was big enough to share.

Food – This would be our 3rd visit to Carmella’s and it has been amazing every time. Our favorite is the Southern BLT sandwich. My wife has tried a few different coffees and she has enjoyed them every time. Tonight she had an Irish Creme Latte and mentioned she would probably order it again next visit. We also split the Southern BLT. Just like the previous visits, it was phenomenal. Previously, we have also tried some of the sweets and they were also a wonderful treat.
Service – There is a large electronic board that displays what they have and what is sold out. Once you decided, you walk up to the counter to order, give them your name, find a seat, and they will call out your name once everything is ready.
Restaurant – Very light, airy and clean space. Floors and tables were both clean. There is an indoor seating area, small bar seating (6-7) and an outdoor seating section. The outdoor space with the Reedy river and falls really adds to your visit.
Overall – This is a stop every time we visit Greenville. The staff are warm and welcoming, food and bakery items are delicious, and you can’t go wrong with the location.

Carmella’s Cafe and Dessert Bar is a sweets lover paradise. I got the cannoli cake and it was nothing short of incredible—moist, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite tasted like it was made with care and creativity. The cafe itself was cozy and welcoming, perfect for catching up with friends, going on a date, or just treating yourself to something special. If you love desserts that look as good as they taste, Carmella’s Cafe and Dessert Bar won’t disappoint. I didn’t get a drink while there but I bet everything they have to offer is just as exquisite.

My wife and I always have to drop by for dessert whenever we have dinner in Downtown! They have a wonderful atmosphere, dessert, drink, and cafe options, and I can’t ever leave without a cannoli or a honey/cinnamon latte!
The last few times we’ve been in, Seth has helped us out and has the best attitude! No matter how long the line is, he always takes his time making great recommendations, cutting up with good jokes and making the experience feel super personable!
We will of course be back!
