Not impressed at all. The three pieces of lettuce two tomatoe slices and bits of onion they call a Side salad were wilted and rotted. The Haddock burger was frozen fish and tasted like a frozen fish patty or what u could taste over the breading.
Which was barely distinguishable from the over powering flavorless breading. Disappointing. It looked like it was gonna taste really good. And it’s so nice that not only did we pay nearly 60 dollars for our food which also consisted of burnt over priced chicken tenders and a flat bread pizza that was mostly dry dough and onions, we are further humiliated and criticized by the owner for the negative review. Maybe if the food was good, which is harder and harder to find now a days and the customer service even worse and more elusive, then my review would not be so negative. I only review the worst products badly. And the best good. Sorry I am speaking up with the truth of how it was.

Door greeter was very friendly. Our waitress very knowledgeable of food and drink, and special menu. The resturant very clean and refreshing. Bathrooms well maintained. The only thing was I trying to order baked stuffed haddock and they said the had none we wanted the mashed potatoes as well. Well they come back 5 minutes later to tell us no baked stuff. So we ordered French onion soup. That was delicious . Then the tell us they had baked stuffed haddock but no mashed so we settled for fresh cut fries which were very fresh and hot and tasty. The Haddock was a bit dry for 25$. Overall nice quiet refreshing atmosphere decent food and friendly staff.

My son and I decided to try out the new restaurant in Calais. They did a great job of remodeling without losing the old building’s charm. Staff was friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding! I had the french onion soup with ceasar salad. You could tell it was made from scratch. The soup was delicious and rich without being too salty ( sometimes I find French onion soup too salty). The dressing on the ceasar was not from a bottle and full of garlicky flavor. My son also enjoyed his real hamburger and potato wedge fries. I look forward to their expanding menu in May and also a pub is soon to come too! We will be back!

Arrived after deciding to try this restaurant last minute, I was presently surprised ! The decor is slightly upscale and very calming, the staff was well knowledgeable about the menu and everyone was very welcoming. Probably the nicest Decor of any of the other restaurants in the Calais Baileyville area. Our group started with deep-fried avocado as an appetizer and it was delicious! It was gone so fast I couldn’t even get a picture! Two of us got tot nachos and one got the beer battered fish sandwich with housemade tartar sauce- All three of us had a delicious meal! Our only complaint was that we left no room for dessert – next time! If you’re on Main Street in Calais it’s definitely worth a stop in. Be patient as they are expanding and are currently short on space for the next few weeks.

Very enjoyable meal. The blackened haddock was fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. Wife had penne alla vodka which was better than many Italian restaurants. Wanted numerous items on menu. Hard to chose! Staff extremely friendly.

We were able to be seated immediately in the pub side of the restaurant in the outside seating section. The food was served quickly. Hot dishes were served hot with hugh portions, cold salads were also hugh portions. The wait staff were friendly and courteous. The river view also has excellent views of the town. It was a very pleasurable experience that we will enjoy with guests again. The restaurant is family and child friendly, while also appealing to young couples, and older groups.

Great food and over the phone service! They were busy when we called in to order and called us back to let us know the wait would be about a half hour and double checked that that was alright. The cheese curds tasted very fresh and my salad was a good portion as well as my boyfriend’s fish and chips. Their fries were really good as well!

This place was an amazing gem before crossing into Canada, there was a free EV charger a 3 min walk away. The food was amazing I loved the fireplaces making it really warm and comfortable. The staff was amazing and I would definitely make it my stop in the future! The fish dishes were cooked perfectly and flavorful.. you should sell Togo cups for tea and coffee.

We had the Fish & Chips and Fish Burger. They were excellent; large fillets of haddock that filled the plate (not triangular or square cuts of fish). Choice of fries or salad. Homemade coleslaw and tartar sauce. Lovely ambience with gas and electric fireplace stoves. Quiet background music that made conversation easy. The selection of menu items going to nearby tables looked delicious too. Staff were very attentive. No long waits. Highly recommend. We will be back.
