The grist’s, the soup the oxtail smashburger, everything was amazing!! Ron is absolutely the best, love his charismatic character, as soon as you walk into the place you feel right at home. On top of amazing customer service, the food here was absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to absolutely everyone! Thank you Ron for making us feel at home and being such a nice human! The portions were great for the price!

Edit: after eating my oxtail smash burger I rate it 100/10!! So so so good!! I’m coming back for this burger and I wanna try their egg rolls so bad!!

The food was delicious . I tried the oxtail Rasta pasta which was very tasty and nicely seasoned and executed well. The oxtail Mac and cheese egg rolls was a definite wow . Love to try something new and I’m happy I did. I also tried the sorrel sweet tea which was really a blast and their dessert which was also good. I also tasted their chicken soup, while I waited for the food. Which was very tasty with dumplings. Their sweet heat wings with rice and peas and cabbage was also delightful. Their organic juice was also pretty tasty also. I’m glad I paid this place a visit. Worth the trip from mount kisco. I would definitely come back. Great customer service.

The staff here are just as amazing as the food! We ordered a bunch of stuff. Ron gave us soups while he prep our food. Everything was delicious. The Rasta Pasta was to die for. 10/10 would absolutely come back again.

If I could give them a 10 I would. Black family owed (a plus). Everything in this place taste like God kissed it. I order the Chicken Rasta Pasta and oxtail mac egg roll and my husband order the stuffed chill glazed salmon with rice and Mac with an egg roll. Every bite was a pleasure . That rasta pasta was a perfect marriage between mac n cheese, jerk, and fresh crunchy peppers. I could go on but you should try it yourself. $74 for two people but enough food to feed 4, worth every dollar.

Amazing food! I love the mac n cheese/jerk chicken smack rolls, waffle fries with Mel’s special sauce and the jerk chicken smash burger is delicious! The sorrel or candied yams cheesecake is a must try. Ohhh, did I mention the curry goat and grits? Listen! It’s the combo you didn’t know you would love. Try it! Tell them Sassy sent you Thank me later!

Had the oxtail smash burger and it was — super juicy and packed with flavor. The waffle fries were crispy and really good too. Ron was super friendly and even hooked me up with a soup. Definitely coming back.

Disappointing Experience at Mel’s Fusion Kitchen – 0/10
My best friend and I made the trip all the way from Staten Island to try Mel’s Fusion Kitchen after hearing some hype about their oxtail and jerk chicken egg rolls. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of disappointing.
The oxtail egg rolls barely had any oxtail in them…mostly just mac and cheese stuffed inside. As for the jerk chicken, the taste was off. It had an overpowering, tangy flavor that didn’t sit right. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe it was just soaked in too much vinegar… but my bestie was convinced it was spoiled.
Sadly, by the next morning, I was dealing with horrible stomach pains and stuck in the bathroom…definitely not the kind of fusion I signed up for.
I had high hopes, but this visit was a complete letdown. For that, I give Mel’s Fusion Kitchen a 0 out of 10. Would not recommend.
