As an English guy just here on holiday my first Cuban food experience was fantastic.
As soon as we were seated, the staff was super friendly and welcoming the whole time – they really helped make the celebration feel special. The atmosphere is perfect: vibrant, colorful, and lively with great music and decor that instantly puts you in a festive mood.
The food was genuinely delicious. The beef empanadas were a standout – crispy, flaky, and packed with flavor. Everyone in our group raved about the Cuban coffee; several guests who know (and love) Cuban coffee said it was outstanding and some of the best they’ve ever had. The whole party enjoyed their meals and left happy and full.
One small thing to know: they don’t split checks for large groups at the same table. We got lucky – our party was seated along one long bench that was technically three separate tables, so we were able to divide the bill into three without any trouble. If you’re coming with a big group, just plan ahead for payment.
Other than that tiny note, everything was fantastic. Great service, tasty food, awesome vibes, and the birthday celebrant (and all of us) had an amazing time. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend Havana Club for your next group outing or celebration.
They have one of the best black beans I’ve tasted. They are a little overpriced for the very small amount that they give. I felt like it was mostly juice from the beans.
Their platanos are also really good when they are fresh. I’ve had to return the platanos a handful of times on different occasions because they were luke warm and hard, like they have been sitting out for a good while. It’s gets a little annoying, especially if I get them to go only to find out halfway home that they are not freshly fried. As you can see in the photos, the difference on how they look when they are fresh, compared to when they are old and hard, like they have been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while.
Their bread tastes yummy. I can eat their whole basket if bread in one go.
When I used to eat meat, this place was my favorite for the bistec empanizado. It comes with black beans and platanos. They bistec had fried onions on top.
And their salsa is one of the best I’v had. Top 3.
Although I do have a so-so annoying experience with them sometimes, this is one of the best tasting Cuban restaurants I’ve been to. That’s why I keep coming back, hoping that my order will be good.
