Founded August 2019. Sold first Gourmet Cheesecake via a Facebook post and have been going strong since that day. Drive Thru Restaurant opened May 4th, 2021. Serving healthier options during lunch time. Started serving Soul Food after relocating to a bigger building that includes dine in and an Event Space in March 2024. Make cheesecakes, pies, breads, cakes, pudding & more. Also specialty cakes (wedding, graduation and birthday). Catering provided all year serving up American, Soul food and some Italian & Mexican dishes. Offer some dishes that are dairy free, and gluten free.

I was impressed! Great parking, wonderfully clean and Brandon is the server, greeter, cook is premire.
I chose a 3 piece chicken dinner. Corn bread and 2 sides. ..Mac n cheese and green beans. Mac n cheese is the bomb. Beans are perfect. Cornbread with a little sugarless syrup works. Chicken is crispy on the outside and holds the tender moisture in. I showed Brandon, it is finger licking sweet soul GOOD.

I was sifting online and stumbled across this place looking for Bob soul food restaurants in Topeka. And chose this place because it had a good rating. When I entered I was welcomed and order was ready. Let’s get into the food. I got the catfish meal and my sides were Mac and cheese and pinto beans. The fish was flavored but fried a bit harder than I like though I do appreciate well cooked meat. The beans I wouldn’t order again. But the Mac and cheese . Mine was a bit runny then the one pictured online. But if it’s good it’s good and good it was. I also appreciate them asking me about condiments and having napkins and plastic ware in the bag.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The breakfast alone is worth the visit. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and cooked with real care. It’s the kind of breakfast that makes you slow down and actually enjoy your morning. The biscuits and gravy are outstanding, and easily some of the best I’ve had.
What really sets this spot apart, though, is the owner. They’re genuinely friendly, take the time to chat, and clearly care about both the food and the people they’re serving.
I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

The food was delicious , homemade soul food! We met the chef and she was a delight.
And we ordered
A 10 oz catfish filet and it was true to size and the fry was gluten free .
2 orders of Mac and cheese , homemade super cheesy and well seasoned
An order of green beans and cornbread which was warm when it got to the table.
And this was all one meal we split between two people for $17.50 or $18.
The food that we did receive was excellent –
However ,
We were not able to fully order everything we wanted. Some items were sold out of the menu, such as the collard greens and the cheesecake.
The deserts are made daily so availability is limited for them too but we got the carrot cake which was also delicious.
The icing wasn’t too sweet and it had pineapple in it so it was great.

Have eaten here a couple different times and the food and service are always excellent. Wonderful catfish, smash burger, greens, and Mac & cheese! Brandon is great and very attentive and accommodating. Not sure what kind of magic is going on in the kitchen but after eating felt fueled rather than over full, and that in no way takes away from the flavor!!

If you haven’t tried this place you need to. Collard greens and Mac and cheese was amazing as well as the catfish and sweet potato pie. Everything was homemade. I wish I remembered the servers name, I think she might have been the chef to, she was sweet. Ill definitely be back to try the other items

If you haven’t tried Shoppers Kitchen, I strongly urge you to go. It’s a family run restaurant that definitely knows how to cook great food. I love the collard greens, so tasty. They are now serving wings and I have yet to try them, but they sound delicious. They are not frozen wings, they are made fresh for you. So that’s next on my list. The catfish is what I ordered last and it was great. Go give them a try, I think you’ll love it as much as I do.

Probably the best soul food restaurant that topeka has to offer, I’m telling you, you will not be disappointed and any plate/dish from the establishment, you could put it up against any soul food restaurant in the kansas city area, this places brings what they have down there to topeka , Madd love and respect for all they do as a people for the community as well, so it’s a win win . Period, bar none .

Edited to respond to owners. Thats a lie I have doordash receipts to prove it. Terrible unseasoned breakfast. Small portions for the prices. Would never recommend this place. Yolk house or cooks American grill are 100% better then this joke of a restaurant. And as far as coming back trying it again I wouldn’t waste anymore of my money for same experience.
