I was visiting friends in the area and joined for Octoberfest dinner. Service was great as was the food. The prettiest currywurst I’ve ever seen! And the steak tartare with truffle chips was a lovely surprise – very delicious. Washed down with a Hefeweisen. My friends had the sauerbraten and flounder schnitzel (not pictured)

A fine purveyors of German cuisine. Tonight’s dishes were steak tartar, chicken schnitzel porkchop and some brats. Great dishes! When in this area, I would visit again.

My wife and I visited this place during Oktoberfest, and what an unforgettable experience it was! Since we had our dog with us, we asked to sit outside, and someone immediately came over to help – with the kindest smile and warm energy.

We chose a spot by the fire pit, and within moments, that same person offered to light it for us. We ordered food and beer, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious – perfectly prepared and full of flavour. But what truly made the evening special wasn’t just the food or the setting – it was the care.

Moments later, the same person appeared again with a bowl of water and treats for our dog, and we chatted for a bit about how wonderful the place was. As night began to fall, they offered us blankets to keep warm -another thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes. Every step of the way, this person was attentive, genuine, and so kind.

Being a business owner myself, I notice the small details – the effort, the extra steps, the pride in what someone does. So I finally asked, “Are you the owner by any chance?”
Sure enough – the answer was yes. And that’s how we met Cordelia – an incredible owner and an even more amazing human being.

To top it all off, after we left (a few beers later!), I realized I’d forgotten my vest there. When I called, I heard the same cheerful voice on the phone: “I was wondering when you were going to call!” Cordelia even mailed the vest back to me – just another act of kindness that perfectly sums up who she is.

Cordelia, thank you for:
1️⃣ For being such a warm, genuine host and the heart of your business.
2️⃣ For creating a place so welcoming and memorable that people can’t wait to return.
3️⃣ For going above and beyond for every guest, every single time.

We absolutely promise – we’ll be back again soon!

We had a great dinner on a busy Saturday night. Reservations are a must as this place is very popular and deservedly so. Although there was a bit of a wait before we were seated, the staff were very attentive and communicative. Service was great and no long wait for anything. We were a table of 7, seated on the main floor which is bustling with activity. The food highlights were the Braunschweiger liverwurst pate, absolutely delicious. Was beautifully seasoned with a satiny liver. A must-have, as was the Flammkuchen flatbread-bacon was perfection. Really enjoyed the Chicken Jager Schnitzel too. The Steak Tartare lacked steak flavor and the capers were a bit overwhelming. Fondue is a fun share. Prices are very reasonable and portions nice. Highly recommend.

This is a great spot. All of the food I had was really good. The portions were really large.

The service was great. They offered different options of when we want the food to be out. They even offered to split the food for us.

I didn’t expect such a great place to eat in a small town like Hunter. It was a welcome surprise.

The food was great, I had the scallops and potato soup, my group got the fondue and 2 different kinds of schnitzel and everyone loved the food. The cocktails and wine were also great, they have few different wine flight options that are good and have a lot of options. The service was friendly and well paced.

I loved the vibes here! so cozy and welcoming. We ordered a burger and sausage to share and we were both satisfied with them. It truly felt like an apres-ski atmosphere with hearty food, quality beers, and wines. Will be back again soon!

Chill, traditional food. Owner is fab, hit this place up if you are in town. It reminded my of my favorite German bar in the West Village of NYC.

Always wanted to try when in the area for skiing but never able to until this past weekend when Hunter closed for the season. Stopped by late on Saturday evening and was excited to try based on others reviews and menu. Our waitress was super sweet and nice given we got there late an hour before closing. Food came fast and looked wonderful but was a bit disappointed: potatoe leek soup was so small for the price ($11) but decent in flavor, the chicken Jaeger snitzchel $(30) was good but the mash potatoes was unbelievably salty but didn’t want to send back as it was late; the nurnberger bratwurst platter for $29 came with 3 small links but loads kraut, potato pancake, the trout salad was ok and probably could have done less kraut ratio, and last the lobster ravioli was ok but not stellar w/ large chunks of lobster meat and good portion of ravioli

Overall great service & atmosphere but the prices did not meet the quality/taste. I know price of food in general has gone up a ton and the area in general but it’s overpriced
