Old school as it comes. Not only have generations been serving up hot dogs here, but the customers as well. My Dad, Bob Nat, introduced us to the One and Only, Abe’s Hot Dog’s on South Main St., but Introduced my kids to Abe’s. Their chili cheese dogs are still as great as they ever were. Gary the current owner and his family have been serving hot dogs as Abe’s at this location since 1933. An ice cold chocolate milk to go with those hot dogs fresh off the flat top are beyond compare. You just can’t make it better, moist bun with beautifully fried hot dogs, with fine minced chili and a slice of American cheese. Although they have many more options and combinations, the classic flavors etched in my memory since childhood are all I want! They are simply the best. See why my thirteen year old, Avery, lights up with a smile and closes his eyes after each memory. It’s food memory you never forget.
Stop back today if it’s been a while. If you have not yet had the experience, bring and $20 and walk out full and satisfied by the classic food experience and the great service! They do it RIGHT every time!

Cozy, clean and super friendly staff. One of the few places you can get a burger in the morning. I had 2 cheeseburgers with onions and chili, and a slice of blueberry pie. All were delicious! Plus, the prices can’t be beat. Support your local restaurants. Stop in and leave happy

This is a timeless restaurant in Wilkes Barre that my sister and I traveled 2 hours to get to. The classic hot dogs are served with a beanless chili sauce, diced raw onions and mustard. Add the cheese for a bonus treat. The hot dogs and seemingly the prices haven’t changed for decades.
If you’re ever in Luzerne county, go here.

South Main Abe’s, dubbed the one and only is a great little hot dog place that serves up a big taste. Today being the last Saturday of the year I had to come here. I got their cheeseburger with l,t,o which for a regular patty it had a good taste, the bun soft, fresh veggies. I had for the first time ever their relish dog, the relish had a sweet taste, and I had cheese on that one. Had three chili mustard and onion dogs which the chili is more on the dryer side, a very unique taste. They have great rice pudding but today I had their chocolate cream pie and it was delicious.

Besides being my favorite hotdog to eat, it is one of my family’s favorite destinations. I used to come here as a kid. Moved away with for the Army 28 years ago and every time I come in to visit my folks it is a must stop destination for everyone in my family. There are multiple Abe’s Hot Dog restaurants in the area, I have eaten at all of them. This is “The” Abe’s Hot Dog.

South Main is my spot for Hot Dogs hand down. Some people debate, but I been to them all and there is nothing close…..Cheese everything, ketchup instead of mustard.
Prices are under $2 and served fresh and fast

Abes used to be the spot, for lunch. The inside hasn’t been updated in years. The dogs are ok. Not as good as they once were though. Staff was friendly. 4 dogs and an ice tea was 12 bucks.
