I was really disappointed with my order from Shrimp Shack. The breading was falling off the shrimp, and the food tasted like it didn’t have any seasoning at all. For the price, I expected much better quality and flavor. Definitely not worth it.

The whiting was greasy and falling apart. Too soft not fried hard. The Mac and cheese is some cheap frozen Mac and cheese. And the green beans had no seasoning. Honestly the worse I’ve ever had from there. The sweet tea was amazing and I added a splash of lemonade. But nothing else was good. Very disappointed. Use to be really good

I ordered clams and shrimp fried medium. Well what I got was hard dried out clams. The shrimp were dried out as well. The store closes at 9 so when I called it was 8:42, no answer. Then I called 37 more times and they took the phone off the hook. I will be at the store tomorrow when they open. Just because you’re closing in a short period of time you can still cook the food with better quality

I spent $50 dollars on a crab cake scallop with a family bundle fish and shrimp with hush puppies I didn’t receive my crab cake my scallops or my hush puppies I called because Uber Eats claimed that that is all they received from this establishment and they are unable to provide a refund. My whole thing is money doesn’t grow on trees and if you have workers here that cannot get the job done then you need to find new workers. I was completely ripped off at this point and I’m beyond pissed. Yes the food I did was fresh and hot and I do appreciate that. I called to try to bring the food back in hope that I would receive what I paid for and not just half. They lady gonna say well I’m sorry we was busy today and I’m unsure if I placed everything in the bag but let me check with my manager to see what she says. She comes back on the phone to tell me No I’m not giving you the food contact Uber Eats which I did and I also filed a complaint with them. I will never ordered from here again if you are using uber eats do not order from this place you will be ripped off $50 dollars for what to just lose my money.

Been going to these franchises since they opened. Over time the food and service has changed at this Newport News location since all the other restaurants have opened around Hampton Roads. They even have a nice commercial ad on tv running so business must be good. But the portions and quality of food has went down a few notches. Decent but not great seafood for top dollar. If I had to pick the best location it would be the Military Highway location. More bang for your buck. If your going to spend money try “Forrest Seafood ” in Newport News or “Got Fish?” Restaurant In Hampton. It is the Standard of top notch Seafood and the boxes don’t close. See my review for both and thank me later.

The Skrimp Shack was such a pleasant surprise. We were looking for a decent fast food place in the area and found this place tucked into a strip mall. The service was fast, the place was clean and the food was delicious! We had the shrimp baskets which had a large amount of shrimp and fries for the cost. Although the food was fried, it was not greasy and had a delicious taste. We certainly will go there again when we are in the Newport News area.
