Reviews
We were seated in the bar area, which was very well maintained and had a great atmosphere. The server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel comfortable throughout.
I tried the “Bollywood” cocktail and it was amazing. Sweet, smooth, and with just the right kick. I usually never finish a cocktail, but this one? Not a single drop left. That says everything.
The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and experience. Definitely worth the money. I’ll absolutely be back.
The decor is modern and elegant, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. The menu offers a good variety, and nearly every dish we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. Portions were just right—not too small, not overly generous. For sure one of the best North Indian food in town- the mains absolutely stand out !!
The Indian-inspired cocktails were interesting, though they didn’t particularly stand out.
On our last visit, we were served by Mark, and he truly stood out. His service was exceptional—prompt, attentive, and thoughtful. He kept a watchful eye on our table without ever intruding, giving us just the right balance of care and privacy.
Overall, one of the better spots in Edmonton for Indian cuisine. Definitely worth a visit!
The ambiance was warm and inviting, the food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere made for a fantastic dining experience. Navi and Kawal truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and well taken care of.
Highly recommend Monsoon Bar and Bistro for both the amazing food and exceptional service! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you are looking for a dining experience that perfectly balances a dignified ambience with soul-satisfying flavors, look no further than Monsoon Bistro. As regular patrons, we have long relied on this establishment for our most cherished milestones, from birthdays to anniversaries. This past Sunday, we decided to introduce our close friends to our favorite spot, and once again, Monsoon Bistro lived up to its stellar reputation.
We kicked off the evening with a round of vibrant cocktails and mocktails that set a high bar for the rest of the night:
Salaam Bombay & Raspberry Mojito: Expertly crafted and perfectly balanced.
Mango Mint Cooler & Tamarind Ginger Spritzer: These offered a bright, zesty kick that was incredibly refreshing.
Kesar Badam Lassi: Rich, creamy, and traditional—a true crowd-pleaser.
The appetizers were the talk of the table. While the Methi Corn Bhajia provided a delightful crunch and the Kolkata Chilli Chicken offered that perfect Indo-Chinese zing, the Dahi Kebab was the undisputed star of the show. Our friends couldn’t stop raving about its texture—soft and cloud-like, seasoned with a delicate precision that melted in the mouth.
The Main Event: Hearty and Authentic
Despite a packed house on a Sunday night, the kitchen didn’t skip a beat. The portion sizes remained generous, and the quality was top-tier:
Daal Makhni: Silky, slow-cooked perfection.
Kadai Paneer Khurchan: Packed with bold flavors and great texture.
Bakra Curry: Tender, succulent meat in a deeply aromatic gravy.
Accompanied by pillowy Garlic Naans, Tandoori Rotis, and fragrant Jeera Rice, it was a feast that left everyone thoroughly impressed. The company and food were so good, I forgot to take pictures.
Beyond the food, what truly defines Monsoon Bistro is the polite and courteous wait staff. They manage the energy of a busy night with grace, ensuring every guest feels attended to without ever feeling rushed.
It was an evening filled with laughter and great memories. Whether you are entertaining a group of friends or looking for a sophisticated spot for a family celebration, Monsoon Bistro consistently delivers excellence.
Monsoon Bistro, you have lived up to your fame yet again!
Dining room is clean and modern but lacks charm. However that is quite irrelevant considering the food and service provided. The chips and dip that come out first are so delicate and flavourful. The cocktails were creative and extremely delicious. Our main courses were so good. It was reasonably priced and portions were sufficient. Unfortunately I was too full to sample the deserts, but can only guess that they would be as amazing as the rest of the meal.
Would definitely recommend and I will certainly be going back.
The drinks menu is impressive, including a well-varied wine list and a good selection of draught and bottled beers.
The food was delicious. Papdi chaat starter was amazing, and the mains (lal maas and palak paneer) equally outstanding.
The real story of our two visits to Monsoon has been the service. The hostess and the waiter were very welcoming. The waiter was friendly, attentive, and helpful but never intrusive. The timing of drinks, starter, and main meal was perfect (great teamwork!).
Overall value for the very reasonable price is unbeatable. Thank you “Team Monsoon,” we look forward to our next visit!
I had a fully gluten free meal, Youssef, my server helped me choose as there were so many options!
I ended up with the Mumbai Salmon Masaledar with basmati rice and lachha paratha.
I highly recommend you check this out especially if you are gluten free. What a stress free meal
The butter chicken gravy was overly sweet—even for someone like me with a sweet tooth, it had way too much sugar for my taste. However, the chicken itself was tender and flavourful, which I really appreciated.
We experienced long waits every time we needed a server’s attention, whether it was to be seated, get a water refill, order more food, or pay the bill.
We ordered 2 butter chickens, 2 naans, 1 rice, 1 soft drink, and 1 ice cream. total came to $69 before tip
