Amazing little hole in the wall! My fiancé comes just for the French onion soup but the food is always delicious! I love their fried shrimp platter! I get the sweet potato fries and they’re so yummy!

Their menu is bigger than you would expect! Specials every week!

Local family owned business— staff is always friendly!

One side is more of a bar and the other is a dining room. Kid friendly!

The food was fantastic. Our waitress, Krystal G was so prompt and nice. The owner was also great making sure we were being taken care of without invading our space. Again, the food was wonderful & the drinks were cheap, we come to Pittsburgh 1 or 2 times a year, this is the first time in 3 trips i found a place i would come back to. We had our 4 year old & had no problems. Highly recommend this place whether you have the family or are just grabbing drinks.

This place is a hidden gem in Spring Garden. The food? Next-level delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. And the drink specials? You seriously can’t beat them—whether you’re grabbing a cold beer or trying something new, your wallet will thank you.
What really sets Hog’s Head apart, though, is the vibe. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely fun to be around. And the patrons? Just awesome people. It’s the kind of spot where you come for the food and drinks but stay for the atmosphere and the company.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Hog’s Head nails it on every front.

Fun little place, but very loud.
Food was ok, beer selection was very poor, but atmosphere and service was great.

Upon entering the bar, the only semi accessable entrance was greeted like Norm from cheers, despite never have been there. Felt immediately welcome. The bar was full at around 530pm, but made my way to a seated area which was completely empty. Burger was ok, asked for rare but came out well… I guess the kitchen doesn’t trust their meat. My friends pizza looked tasty enough and he was happy with it. Overall an ok experience for basic meal and drinks.

It’s a cozy place in a valley that feels like you’re a hundred miles from a city. Food is always good. Would probably go under the category of dive bar, but it’s better food than what I think of when I think of a dive. The people there are down to earth kind of folks. You mostly see an older crowd. It’s nice to go to when you just want something to eat, but can’t figure out what you want. I can’t speak to everything on the menu, but it doesn’t feel like you’re eating out of the back of a Sysco truck.

An easy to miss, somewhat hard to find little Americana joy in Reserve Township- but it’s definitely worth a stop to enjoy a well made American bar style meal or just the ability to wet your whistle. For my family, it was the former while our power was out for over a day after a microburst.

I had found out about the “Pig Bar” looking around online, and it seemed to fit my family’s needs that evening, both for a nice and simple dinner, but also a pizza to go for my kids summer daycare lunches. The waitress, though busy with a few tables, was very inviting and pleasant, and helpful with two children in tow.

I had the Cajun Steak Hoagie, which was large, well seasoned and juicy, and very fair for the price considering the quality. My wife had the Open Faced Roast Beef, which was a tasty and enjoyably messy load of food, marked by a tasty brown gravy, cheese and plenty of flavor. My kids both enjoyed the Chicken Tenders and Fries, and happily munched on both. They also shared a piece of Oreo Pie for dessert, which was quite delicious when I stole a bite. And the pizza we got to go was quite high quality and would stand with most any local pizza joint.

Overall, it was a really nice meal at a very fair price point, and there were a number of other things on the menu I would like to try on another visit. And with plenty of bar options as well, it seems to have something for everyone who want a classic bar style dinner that is done very well.

We were in the area running an errand and decided to stop here for some food. The vibes were immaculate and the regulars are very friendly and funny. The bartender was super kind as well! Also, the best wings I’ve ever had in Pittsburgh!

Three of us had the crab flatbread, and it was delicious. We all shared garlic wings, and they were the best I’ve ever had, and another person got fish on a dish and said it was great. Can’t wait to go back and try more things!!
