Wonderful place!! Food was amazing, service was amazing and the atmosphere was calm and peaceful. Great place to stop by and have a well-seasoned and well-cooked meal. (Thought we were in the south) 🙂
All the BBQ we tried was seasoned perfectly and tender as could be. The brisket, ribs, pulled pork and hot link sausage were all great! The potato salad and mac-n-cheese were delicious.
The dessert was even surprisingly delicious. Peach cobbler and bread pudding both served with ice cream and drizzled with caramel sauce.

Fantastic barbecue. The ribs just fall off the bones and the chicken has a crispy outside and really juicy inside. Brendan gave us incredible service. Never let her drinks run out and kept checking on us all the way through. We were shocked how much food came to the table. We left very satisfied and we highly recommend.

Richie Z’s Brickhouse is now under new management. Not only is the food great so is the customer service. I believe that customer service is a huge part of any business and I am very fussy when it comes down to customer service and I tell you that Richie Z’s is tops for the employees are great and they know what customer service means. I for one highly recommend Richie Z’s to anyone who is looking for that great dining experience with a great atmosphere and I do that say that to often. Also the new management is great, so when you stop by Richie Z’s look up the new manager TJ who is a wonderful Christian man and thank him for the wonderful job he is doing to serve the Pierre area and I thank you for dining at Richie Z’s and for those who are visiting historical Pierre and Fort Pierre, enjoy your stay and come back again. My favorite place to eat in Pierre. Excellent food, friendly efficient service, cool ambiance. My only complaint is that you can definitely tell when someone other than the head guy cooks. The portion size and the flavor palette were definitely different and less enjoyable. That said, I love this place and I’ll be back!

We were just passing through the area for lunch.
Finding the dining room once you come down the stairs is pretty confusing even with the signage. We heard the hostess giggle at our confusion instead of helping. To start the prices are extremely high for the quality. I got brisket mac and cheese and shared it with my son. The taste wasn’t bad but the brisket being ground up in the cheese souce was odd and made the presentation less than desirable. (See photo) My son tried one bite but didn’t like the texture and I don’t blame him because neither did I. The portion was large for the price though. My husband got a burger and fries and we were confused why we had to pay extra for lettuce, pickle, onion etc. Atleast put that in the price of the burger but I can understand not when it’s already a $19!! The burger wasn’t seasoned, over cooked and just pretty mediocre. The fries were seasoned well but soggy. The worst part had to be our waiter who insisted on doing drive by check-ins and kept walking away while we were ordering, asking for a refill and so on. He was picking up menus and walking away slowly as we ordered it was just odd, considering it wasn’t busy at that time. He only came back once when were done and refilled our drinks after our food was eaten.

My first time eating here. WOW!! The food was amazing!! The service was top notch. I would them a 10 star rating if it was allowed. We had the pulled pork nachos as an appetizer, it was so delicious a perfect size for 4 people. The brisket jalapeño mac & cheese, Philly sandwich, and the 3 meat platter. From the appetizer to the mac and ch, brisket, sausage and cornbread just plain great cooking. Richie Z’s gained a loyal customer today. Kudos to the chef and wait staff. Worth every dime spent.

Can’t say enough good things about this place and how our group was treated. We were a group of ten that were visiting for a hunting trip and they opened up their top room to us for a delicious dinner and drinks. Candi and Nancy went above and beyond to make sure we had a great night! The drinks and food were great and extremely affordable. We are adding this place to our list of restaurants to visit every year we come to town, thanks again Candi/Nancy for taking such good care of us

Ended up going here twice in twos while in on a work trip. The only time I needed the knife given was to butter my cornbread. The brisket was insane and the ribs truly did fall off the bones. Get the mac and cheese as a side. The mashed potatoes were great too. They had some sort of spicy in them that I wasn’t expecting but loved. If you’re in Pierre you gotta go.
Both times I was here service was great and food came out fast. There was wifi to hook up to for an end of day meeting while I ate.

Came here for lunch and had a delightful and delicious meal! The Pitmaster sandwich was super flavorful. Only wished we would have had room for peach cobbler. Will have to come back!
