Chai was great as always, but I was disappointed by the avocado on my TSA sandwich. I had to take it off because it was somehow unripe and yet spoiled at the same time. Once I took it off the sandwich was good but it definitely put a damper on the experience. (Avocado should not be grey.)

Visited Uptown Coffee Cafe with my wife and ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese (no biscuit), hashbrowns, and Americanos. The hashbrowns were flavorful enough that we decided to take them with us, but the excess grease made them feel a bit too heavy to enjoy fully at the moment. The sausage was also a bit greasy, requiring a quick dab with a napkin, but the meal overall was satisfying.
The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was excellent. The staff member behind the counter was very helpful and even brought our food to the table, which was a nice touch. After dining, you’re expected to clear your dishes and place them in the tub near the trashcan, next to the drip coffee station. The cafe also offers a variety of options, including wine for those interested.
One thing to note: the parking meters outside have a minimum charge of $0.50, which gives you 30 minutes ($1.00 for an hour). Be prepared if you visit Monday through Saturday.
It was a nice experience with friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. I would probably recommend it for coffee and maybe a sweet treat.

Great service and inviting atmosphere, everyone was kind and personable. I’ve been here multiple times to study and drink some coffee to get out of the house, and I’ve enjoyed every experience. Also, the coffee is very good, but I’m not the best judge of coffee quality. Highly recommend 🙂

I appreciate that they took a few days to refresh and revamp the space—you can definitely notice the thoughtful improvements. The service is great, and the atmosphere feels warm and inviting. There aren’t a lot of places in downtown Farmville to eat so Uptown is kind of the place to go if you’re looking to get a little lunch/brunch while you’re in town.
It was a pretty solid three stars for us.
It’s a pretty standard cafe with coffee, some breakfast sandwiches and other sides. We ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant as well as two BLEATS (I think that’s what they were called?), some lattes and chocolate milk, then took our seats.
Then came the wait.
We came on a Sunday morning around 11am, which is like the peak after-church hour so it was a little busy and I can grant if the service is a little slower than usual. But it was not crazy by any means. Nevertheless, we waited about 30 minutes for our food to come out. We sat in a place where we could see the kitchen and let me tell you, the wait was not because the sandwiches were being made from scratch. The whole meal was over $40, so you would have expected it.
When our food finally did come out the first thing I saw was a nice, brown hair hanging off my avocado. But I suppose the wait was helpful because, at this point, we were so hungry that I just picked it off and dug right in.
The food itself was good, nothing to write home about, but good and filling.
All in all, the meal was fine. If I found myself back in Farmville, I might stop back in again (because, where else are you going to go?), but wouldn’t go out of my way to get here.

Great services, You can count on them to make sure you have a great Uptown Coffee cafe experience. I also loveeee the drinks that they sell. I tried the caramel frappe today and it was amazing. The employees here are so kind and can help you with anything.

Very good coffee. They also have unique flavors like Snickers and English Toffee. The taste of the espresso comes through in their lattes strong without being overwhelming. The ambiance is vibey – chill music, low lighting, classic coffee shop feel. The place wasn’t too crowded, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I asked for recommendations because I was interested in a few of their more unique flavor options, and the barista recommended some delicious options based on my preferences. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

I have been here off and on over the years. I am unclear how many have owned this business but the food offering is underwhelming, the service is often very slow, items are overpriced and there is a lack of aesthetics here that is so easily resolvable. The most egregious was when I was charged over $13 for three paltry scoops of ice cream (the third scoop was more like 2 tablespoons) in November. When I balked, I was received a with blank stare. Turns out, I was overcharged, as someone there refunded $4.44 on my credit card after I left. When I checked prices online at a later date, it said my ice cream should have been $5.95 so ultimately, I still overpaid at $8.87. When I tried calling, eventually a message alerted me to the fact no one could answer the call. All this to say, I doubt I will ever return for all the aforementioned reasons.

Uptown Coffee has been great every time I’ve been. I stopped in on Friday for breakfast after an early appointment. I got a Chai latte with a shot of espresso added. It was literally the best Chai I’ve ever had, and I pretty much have ordered Chai everywhere.
The breakfast croissant was super buttery and soft. And the tiramisu was excellent as well.

Had the breakfast Panini and Chamomile tea with sweetened strawberry and honey…hostess was warm welcoming and friendly…calm..cool..chill vibe here..soft low key atmosphere and not too crowded on the weekday mornings…great food..people were nice easy going good mix of college kids and adults of different types and sizes…luvs luvs luvs it…would recommend to anyone!! Great job!
