This evening at approximately 8:30pm I walked into Pickelmans Old 63 location and attempted to purchase an Italian club sandwich with turkey substituted for the ham that comes on it, and was met with rudeness and disrespect from an African American male with pink and black speckled lips that identified himself as the manager and refused to provide his own name.

As soon as I walked in the 2 employees that were sitting idly at the table hopped up and walked behind the counter with somewhat of an attitude, none of the 4 staff members greeted me.
The AA male’s disrespectful treatment began when I inquired about having to pay for additional meat on a sandwich when I’m only substituting. He essentially said it was policy and when I asked for a manager, he said that he was the manager but would not give his name (and was not wearing a name tag). I explained to that I ordered the same sandwich the same way 48 hours prior and was not charged for additional meat. The AA male explained that turkey did not belong on the Italian club which is why I would have to pay more, so I switched to a hodge podge (which costs more) and asked for no ham. At this time I informed the AA male that I would be adding V&O and Italian seasoning, and that I am certain that Pickelmans does not charge extra for that, immediately the AA male snapped at me, “I DIDN’T SAY YOU DID!”. I responded, “I never accused you of doing so, and yet I’m informing you anyways”. The AA male rudely proceeds to tell me I can provide any future requests to the dark-haired Caucasian girl with the ponytail standing in the area of the cash register.

I informed the Caucasian girl of my request for a half cut strawberry lemonade and classic lemonade. When I initially walked into this store (Old 63 location), I noticed both the classic and strawberry lemonade were being drained from the self-serve dispensers. I asked the Caucasian girl if it would be possible to get a mixed classic and strawberry lemonade even though both lemonades appear to be no longer available to customers, she responds “I don’t know about that”. I then ask her if this location (Old 63) still stays open until 2am, to which she responds, “Yes, but we usually close the lemonades around this time”. The time, at this point, was approximately 8:40pm.

After hearing the Caucasian girl’s response I informed her that I would no longer like to order the lemonade and that I momentarily forgot that there were 2 other locations in town. As I was walking out the door, the AA male who had disrespected me moments prior screamed out “And you have a good day miss!” in a smug and antagonistic tone.

I drove off the parking lot and proceeded to drive to the next parking lot over so that I could still see inside the store. At 8:44pm I called the Old 63 location and requested the name of the “store manager”. The Caucasian female employee answered the phone and informed me that she could not give out that information because it was “against HIPAA laws”. After I finished laughing, I informed the Caucasian female employee that HIPAA laws pertain to medical facilities, healthcare workers, and recipients of health care services. I further explained to her that I was not a patient, I was in fact a customer, and that in her current work capacity she is not a medical or healthcare worker, and therefore, HIPAA does not apply here. She responds, “WELL IT’S AGAINST THE LAW!” and hangs up the phone.

By 9:00 pm I walked into the downtown Pickelmans location and experienced behaviors worthy of the brand. Immediately, I was greeted by the 4 members of staff working behind the counter and offered assistance immediately. I politely asked to speak with a manager, and it was it this time that Jamie and Brandon introduced themselves to me as the GM and AGM of that location and offered me assistance. I will take this time to note that the downtown location STILL had self-serve lemonades available for customers to purchase, AND when I asked to speak to a member of leadership I was greeted with respect and was offers an introduction BY NAME!!

The food here is usually perfect. However, the last 2 times I’ve been here, it’s showing that it might not be worth it anymore.

I order a roasted turkey bacon club, with extra turkey. The normal amount of turkey is too thin/little for a toasted sandwich in my opinion, but I’m happy to pay for a bit more (if I actually get it). This costs me an extra $3. So total, my sandwich was $11. However the last two times I’ve been given a regular amount of turkey. They’ve been busy-ish both times I’ve gone for pickup, so I can understand a slight oversight. But if I’m paying extra specifically for this, then it’s expected it actually comes on the sandwich. There are 2 pieces of turkey on the normal turkey bacon club, and I paid $3 to get more. I haven’t had any issues when ordering in person though – both times I’ve been shorted I have ordered online. So by the time I get home and am able to see how much turkey was actually put on, it’s too late to do anything.

Long story short: If ordering in person, they are typically phenomenal. But be expecting to have items missing when you order online.

We arrived very late in town. We didn’t want to go out because we were all tired. Pickleman’s employees were very kind. Went above and beyond to make sure we got our food, and that everything was correct. Even threw in complimentary cookies for the kids. We would definitely recommend!

UPDATE: I went to their website and did an internal complaint, as directed here, and have never heard anything back.

I’ve only eaten here once before and it was delivered fast, delicious and still warm. This was NOT that. It was messy, cold and took 1.5 hours to be delivered when it was supposed to be 35-45 minutes. And what is that little gherkin they sent when we ordered two pickle halves? If pickle is in your name, it should be the best pickle EVER. For some reason, I can’t add photos.

After speaking to the manager twice (I think he might’ve been more irritated than I was, and that’s weird since I was the hangry one) he finally told me that they use Uber Eats to deliver. Well had I known that, I would’ve just ordered thru them because then I could’ve at least recouped my tip for the world’s longest delivery! Suuuper disappointing, especially since our lunch breaks were over by the time the food got to the hospital. I only gave the second star because they threw in a lot of freshly baked cookies and they were

Pretty filling little tasty sandwiches and great soups. Pretty expensive when it comes to getting sides for your main course. For example 1.99$ for a side of cheese pictured in my photos. 3.8 rating

We arrived a little before midnight – open until 2 am. We were the only dine-in customers at this location, but students picked up carryout orders and left. We ordered 2 sandwiches (Cuban & Italian Beef), 2 bags of chips, and 2 fountain drinks ($34). The food was fresh, but the service was lacking. The restrooms were blocked off, and the manager said they were closed for the night. He was not interested in helping us. However, one of the employees kindly directed us to a nearby convenience store that was open. The manager also appeared frustrated that we were dining in. The food was fine, but for $34, there are other places to eat that will also offer better service.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I was driving for Uber Eats and was handed the wrong order despite clearly stating the customer’s name. When the mistake was discovered, I immediately called the restaurant, only to be blamed for their error. (For context, this is the only time I’ve ever been handed the wrong order while driving for Uber.)

When I returned to the store, another employee helped me without issue, until the original girl behind the counter inserted herself into the conversation and began interrogating me about why I “let the customer keep the wrong order.” I explained, “Because you can’t re-serve it—you’ll just throw it away.”

Instead of acknowledging her mistake, she doubled down, insisting I was somehow responsible for her failure to follow basic instructions. When I asked how that made sense, she sneered, “Right, and if you’re so smart, why are you driving for Uber?”

At that point, I made it clear I wouldn’t be back. I was ready to let their initial mistake slide—didn’t even expect an apology—but blaming the customer and insulting someone’s intelligence crosses a line. It was unprofessional, mean-spirited, and easily one of the most disrespectful exchanges I’ve ever had with customer service

Great food and friendly helpful staff. Cute decor and even decorated for the Holidays. Booth and table seating options. Clean bathrooms. Plenty of parking. Good location in the middle of a residential hub, but a bit off the beaten path.

I order picklemans every night. I spend 130 a week there on average. Usually the food is fabulous but tonight it looked like some just stopped together my sandwich with 0 care or effort. I paid 10$ for this sandwich… that’s just sad. I get off work so late and honestly depend on picklemans a lot of the time for dinner, and they just didn’t live up to standard for a 16$ meal. I’m not sure I’ll come back after this.

Edit: Staff helped me take care of the order very promptly. This picklemans has a high standard for customer service. I wouldn’t expect a sandwich like this, but if it does happen they will take care of you.
