First time trying out this restaurant in White Rock & I’m impressed on their place. Got a nice ambiance once you enter. Their staff are very friendly. We ordered Samosas, veggie & chicken, & they were good. Will have the butter chicken for dinner tonight & some sweets, (forgot what it’s called lol!)

We made a quick stop at this place for sweets, and I must say they have amazingggggg sweets! I decided to get Pista Khoa Barfi, Gulab Jamun, and Peda. I wasn’t too sure about the Peda at first, but they turned out to be so delicious—I wish I had gotten more! The Jalebi was also really good and tasted fresh.
I also grabbed Pav Bhaji and Aloo Samosa on the go, and they were absolutely amazing. Also, I really appreciated the generous serving size of chutney with the samosa. Unlike other places, they weren’t too stingy. I loved it, totally worth.
The store itself was very clean, with a great variety of sweets to choose from. The customer service was excellent! The staff was very helpful and even offered to let us taste the sweets before buying. If you love desi sweets, this place is definitely worth trying! Will definitely be visiting again!

This sweet shop is a gem! The sweets are absolutely delicious, full of rich, authentic flavors that keep you coming back for more. They have such a great variety, it’s hard to pick just one! The owners and staff are so warm and welcoming – they really make you feel like family. Definitely a spot worth visiting if you love a good treat!

Occasionally I order a few individual samosas from Kesari. The samosas are very reasonably priced and delicious. Its best to order ahead since everything is fresh, made to order.
The customer service is outstanding. Once I had a brief wait and they surprised me with a complimentary dessert which was a thoughtful gesture and very appreciated.
The restaurant itself has a welcoming setup that makes it easy to sit, chat, and enjoy your meal. I also love the shelves along the walls are stocked with unique items that would make great gifts.
There are a few free parking spots right beside the restaurant, with plenty more available nearby.

For Caucasian folks, let me tell you, if you haven’t been in here, my gaud, you must come! They have magical looking products, but the main thing is the sweets. East Indian sweets come from a long held tradition, even further back than French delights, I presume. Try the petha types. Those are my favorites. Especially the green one that is wrapped into a cone shape. The wrap is made from a type of squash, soaked in an incredibly delicious syrup. Inside is cardamom, cloves, and a spice with zesty freshness like frankensence. Then there are sliced and diced nuts in a sweet syrup. There are other things in there I assume. It is a taste that must have been inspired somewhere in heaven. Anyhow, this place is a must. The clerks are super great too. Very friendly.

I recently visited Kesari Indian Sweets and Eats in Surrey and ordered their thali, a mango lassi, and chole bhature. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
Thali ($21) – 1/5
This was one of the worst thalis I’ve ever had. The only good items were the dal makhani (4/5) and the mixed vegetable sabzi (4/5)—both had decent flavor. Everything else was terrible:
• Butter Chicken: 0/5 – Way too sweet, completely ruined the taste.
• Chole: 0/5 – Tasted burnt and borderline inedible. Made me feel nauseous.
• Gajar ka Halwa: 0/5 – This wasn’t a dessert. It was like chewing rubber.
• Raita: 0/5 – Completely forgettable and added no value to the thali.
For a $21 thali, this was ridiculously overpriced. Given the quality, it shouldn’t be more than $14–$15 at best.
Mango Lassi – 2.5/5
Mediocre at best. Tasted artificial, almost like a powdered mix rather than real mango.
Chole Bhature – 2/5
The bhature were okay, but since the chole were the same burnt chole served in the thali, it dragged the whole dish down. Nothing special at all.
Ambience – 2.5/5
Just average. Nothing impressive or particularly inviting.
Final Verdict
If you’re considering visiting Kesari Indian Sweets and Eats, I’d highly recommend skipping the thali and chole bhature. The only saving grace was the dal makhani and mixed veg sabzi, but that’s not enough to justify the price. Overall, I’d rate this place 1/5 and won’t be returning.

We had family lunch and everyone enjoyed their meal.
The $20 thali is a large portion and very good.
We didn’t like the Bindi because it was oily, but everything else was good.
My grandma loved the fish tikka.

Our favourite food item was the honey cauliflower and paratha.
We wouldn’t order the chicken seekh kabab again.
We loved the Doda barfi, kaju rose barfi, and raj bhog mittai.
The music was old Bollywood classics which we really enjoyed. The volume was perfect so we could still have a conversation.
The staff were receptive to our food feedback and thoroughly explained the menu. I have dietary restrictions so I appreciated it.
We recommend this restaurant.

This is the best authentic Indian bakery! Friendly helpful staff. Everything is delightful you can’t go wrong. I just pick a box size and get one of each until it’s full! Very good price. If I lived here I’d go every day.
