BEST SERVICE!! Juan was able to accommodate our large party and had the table set up for us before we got there. Best chunky guacamole in town!!! Food was amazing. The server was great and handled the whole table in his own and got everybody’s order right. He was attentive and nobody’s drink was ever empty.

Thank you for making my niece’s birthday stress free!

My husband’s fried burrito was burnt and Difficult to cut it. The chicken quesadilla was soggy. You’re supposed to be able to pick up a quesadilla and eat it with your hands. It’s not meant to be eaten with a fork and a knife. I guess the chicken just sits in a container of water or broth and that’s what causes the quesadilla to be soggy. The chicken was so chewy I had to spit it out into a napkin. The restaurant was not very busy at 12:45 today and I can see why.

The food was extremely disappointing and seemed to be prepared with minimal effort. The beans were bland and clearly needed more seasoning(salt). The fajitas lacked flavor and were poorly seasoned as well. The drinks tasted stale, as if the dispensers had not been properly cleaned. In addition, the menu offered very limited options. Overall, it was a very unsatisfactory dining experience.

We visited this local Mexican restaurant yesterday, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish.

We were seated right away, which seemed promising since it wasn’t that busy. There was one large table and a few small families around. After ordering our drinks and cheese dip, we placed our food order and then sat there for a very long time. My 9-year-old finished her full glass of water and waited for a refill that never came. My husband eventually gave her his drink because no one checked on us.

After what felt like forever, we had to flag down our waiter to ask what was going on. That’s when we were told they only had one cook and were busy with a large table. That’s understandable but why not inform customers when seating them? Instead, we were left waiting with no updates, no refills, and hungry kids just eating chips.

When my husband asked if anything could be done to compensate for the long wait, the manager (or maybe owner) came over and was honestly rude. He made it sound like it was our fault for expecting better service just because they’re a “local business” and not a franchise. Being local doesn’t excuse bad service or poor communication. After speaking with him, the waiter came back and said, “maybe 10 more minutes, but not sure.” At that point, heck no — we were done.

The only offer was a military discount – which we would have received anyway but wouldn’t have asked for. A simple gesture like taking off the cheese dip or offering 15% off would’ve gone a long way, but instead, we were met with attitude because they are a “local business.”

We decided to just pay for the drinks and cheese dip (and yes, they still added the to-go chips). Hopefully the $20 we spent on the little we had helped them out somehow, because we won’t be back. They came across as money hungry and dismissive instead of caring about their customers.

We always try to support local restaurants, but this one lost our business. It’s not the customers’ fault you’re short-staffed or unprepared. We’ll gladly support another local Mexican restaurant that actually values its guests.

I haven’t been to El Maya in a long and decided to visit it again. I was disappointed in the chips and salsa. The chips had no taste or salt. They were bland. When I asked for salt the waiter didn’t bring a salt shaker. He brought packets of salt . The food looked delicious, but it was a let down. The margaritas were really good. If you’re looking for great margaritas, they are the place.

I have not been to El Maya in years…. Im glad that they now have a bar area. The food is a 3. The chips and salsa a 5. The drinks are off the scale….. I loved Justin and Oscar. Justin has such a great personality… I will be bk.

This is my second time leaving a review but I had to come and leave this. I ordered two burritos, I specifically told them what I wanted, I was overcharged, $53.00 for two burritos. The manager the one that works on the weekend was nasty to me. When I told him the order was wrong he still went to the back and bought me out the wrong sauce. I will not be going back to this place and will make a formal complaint with the owner or regular manager. Really disappointed and don’t even trust eating this food after they gave me the wrong sauce. I’m disappointed- money wasted- overcharged and the manager didn’t correct the issue. He just went to the kitchen and didn’t come back out. Also you need to change your mop or bleach water, I got nauseous waiting on my food at the mildew smell from the dirty mop water that was used. I won’t be back. By the way. This was my second time ordering from the weekend manager and him getting my order wrong. Then he overcharged today.

I don’t have money to waste.

I got two shrimp tacos and one steak. They were delicious! The chips and salsa and the queso were great too. My group’s only complaint was that our server seemed to be really overwhelmed and kept forgetting to bring us multiple things after we asked for them a few times. But she tried! Otherwise our visit was great and we’ll definitely be back.
