I purchased fried pork chunks that came old, dry, and cold. I also ordered fried chicken chunks with the bone but received what appears to be chopped up chicken fingers. The rice and peas looked old as well and was room temperature. The yuca with onions and the side cup of beans was the only edible items.

I went into the store and asked for a small rice and oxtail and a small rice with two baked chickens. I ran to my car to get my cash because I didn’t want to use my phone to pay because I would have to hand my phone over to her and she would go to the corner and pay. When I came back the food was bagged so I paid for it and came home. I opened the bag only to find out I had the two pieces of chicken with no rice. I called them to understand why I paid the amount I money I did. And the lady was initially speaking English with me with no issues, told me the rice and oxtail was a medium. She couldn’t explain why I got a medium when I asked for a small. When I tried to ask her to give me the breakdown of what I paid for since I didn’t get any rice she couldn’t do that either. And all of a sudden she couldn’t speak English. On their menu it says that a small oxtail is $10 and a small baked chicken is $7. I also got a tres leche which on the menu says $4. I paid $24 and didn’t even get rice with my chicken. What frustrates me the most is the faking that she could not speak English when she started speaking English with me to begin with. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are other Latin restaurants in the area with better customer service and better food.

I had to carry my food to the table & when I was done eating, I had to clean the the plate & put the plate in a basket. The service sucks. I felt i was in elementary school LoL but the food was good. The restaurant looks clean.

I ordered 2 chicken and cheese empanadas and the empanadas barely had chicken or cheese. 90 percent air. Very disappointed

I do not know who that lady was who was in the kitchen being super nasty towards me after delaying my order and literally over cooked the Chicharron to the point that it was dust. I threw the whole thing in the garbage. She also tried to argue about why it was taking so long when I was advised it’ll only be 20 mins but was took over 35 mins. WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

Not worth it. Paid $20 for just three small pieces of steak and overly salty beans. Not only was the food disappointing, but the staff had such bad attitudes. Definitely won’t be coming back.

I stopped in today for chicken soup and left with pernil and beans. Hoping for a great experience to along with the food. Unfortunately, the staff was very rude. Though still leaving a tip and being content about the food. The soup and bean containers and tops were replaced with the larger container because they ran out medium sized. This cause all the soup and bean to spill in the bag and onto my car and my clothes. When I returned to the show them, the three ladies in the front didn’t automatically correct their issue. They just stood there and told me we don’t have any more!!! I asked them to please put the soup in a larger container and they still refused. Until I asked one of the male customers to translate in spanish and then and only then they decided to fix the issue. This would have really been a bad look if I was the mayor or city council of this city. This should have been corrected immediately! And I will not be returning!

I gotta give props where it’s due, this spot never misses. I’m hooked on their family combo meals! the seasoning is always on point, not too salty, not too bland, just right. You can tell they know what they’re doing in that kitchen.

Delivery’s always on time, too. No drama, no missing items, no “where’s my food?” nonsense. They pull up, drop it off, and it’s still hot.

And the prices? Mad reasonable. Especially for the portions you’re getting. In a time where everybody’s charging steakhouse prices for takeout, they’re keeping it humble and worth it.

If you’re craving that real Dominican flavor without getting played on the bill, this place is it.

Nelly’s is a great spot to get a big, filling meal that isn’t too expensive. You can choose from beef stew, pork, ox tail and other Dominican food like fried plantains and rice and beans in a large takeout container for about $10. Nothing fancy, but they have seating as well in the air conditioned dining area. Great for a quick lunch or takeout.
