My dining companion and I were surprised by the quality of the food in this understated, hole-in-the wall place. The ahi was notably fresh and the shrimp portion generous. I appreciated having four base options that included brown rice as one. Don’t expect any atmosphere, but the bowls were just as we like them, the price good, and the service by the young ladies behind the counter excellent.

There was a new worker here today that really didnt understand the menu. I ordered ponzu sauce(yellow bottle) as a topping and the dude sat there and basically took a guess and grabbed the green bottle(sesame oil). I told him that wasnt the ponzu, it very obviously wasnt too because of how thick it was and he doubled down and told me I was wrong. The ponzu bottle has always been the yellow one for the 10+ years ive been going here.
I guess thats whatever but my big issue is that as I was walking out the persons coworker came up to them and told them they were wrong and pointed at the yellow bottle saying that was the ponzu.
I paused at the door and looked at them and they looked at me and did nothing. I left feeling extremely disrespected. The sauce they gave me is sesame oil which people have life threatening allergens too. Have fun killing someone with your negligence. I will never set foot in this establishment again.

this is literally the saddest excuse for a spam masubi. the rice was like hard block and fell apart completely within the first bite & there was hardly any sauce. honestly , the poke by pelandale is way fresher and actually knows how to prepare the food. considering it took them 15 -20 minutes for the singular order of masubi with no other customers coming in, i’d expect more than this sad excuse of an appetizer:(

Alright, so we’re in Modesto, so I wasn’t expecting much, ya know? My honest take? The poke was alright. The fish was fresh and tasted good, and the options were fine. It’s a bit pricey for what you get, though. I also got some musubi, and it was a total bummer. Huge pile of rice with, like, a tiny piece of Spam. Seriously, how do you skimp on Spam? It’s supposed to be cheap eats! Come on! I didn’t even bother taking a picture of the poke. The girl at the counter seemed annoyed to take our order. And the people at the next table said the same thing, so it wasn’t just me. Overall, it’s just okay. Bad service and bad musubi.

This is a very tasty bowl, I love that I get to pick my size then can mix and match my proteins. You pick your veggies, rice/greens, then sauce types. If it’s your first time just tell them and they will walk you through it. This location is quick, efficient and fairly friendly depending on time of day. One detractor is getting to be price to portion. Use too get generous scoop of shrimp, salmon or scallops now seems to be smaller helping of everything AND the prices increased. So this has become a less frequent quick lunch or small meal because I feel it’s more a fancy salad now and I can purchase all that for less expense and have multiple bowls.

Save your money and go somewhere else!! I’ve always loved this poke spot, but I don’t know what has changed lately. The quality of the fish is really low and taste slimy also the portion has shrunk about half. I use to always see the same manager for years, but he hasn’t been there the last couple times I’ve went in so I dont know if it’s a new owner or if a new person is running the shop. I won’t be returning.

Everything tastes so FRESH & the quality of the fish they get is very high quality. You get a decent amount with each scoop & they’ve even increased the size of the scoop they use to make up for recent price increase.
ALSO YOU MUST TRY THE GREEN TEA RICE AS YOUR BASE ! You can thank me later.
I love this place ! I’ve been meaning to leave this review for a while now. Just moved to Modesto 3 months ago and & am so happy this place is not to far from my pad. The employees are all awesome & the price is fair.

Second time coming to Poke Bowl. If you like sushi, you need to come try out this establishment. Ingredients were very fresh and a big variety of choices! The music playing in the background sets the vibe while enjoying a delicious meal. Will be going back regularly.

I used to love it here but lately or maybe depending on the time the fish will be slimy, flies landing on it too… I would love it again if it were cleaner and the fish wasn’t slimy and flies were exterminated. This location is worse than the riverbank one. I’ll will now be going to pokemoto, it was much much cleaner.

I’ve ate at Poke Bowl a lot in the last year, usually I can expect decent quality poke from them but this time I was really grossed out. Wilted lettuce isn’t great but lettuce goes bad fast so I understand… Yet this level of rotten lettuce being served is disgusting. Reddish brown slimy chunks of something on the lettuce.. what even. And the reason I located this when it’s in the middle of my bowl? Because the smell was overwhelming when I took the lid off I knew to search for it. (My SO had picked up the bowl for me so I did not see this at the store, nor did she.)
Edit to add that I did call them but they were closed. I left a voicemail and no one called me back so I left this review.
