Ike’s has fallen off quite a bit.
Decided to try Ike’s again after a while and was severely disappointed. My sando barely had 4oz of meat it seemed like, and the sandwich itself had more veggies than meat even though I had only asked for lettuce, yellow peppers and onions. We had to wait 10-15 minutes and on top of that, my friends sandwich was made wrong. They offered to remake it but came out with a flat sandwich of just protein and bread, none of the veggies she asked for.
Quality has gone downhill and it could be fixed by just having better proportions. My sando had pastrami and all I could taste was cardboard and 1000 island dressing.
I would move on and go to one of the plenty other options Serramonte has to offer.

I ordered the vegetarian bacon sandwich, the Prissy Presley. The tiny amount of vegetarian bacon they put in there was terrible! They put in a couple of slices in the middle of the sandwich and then as soon as you get half way through the sandwich slice, there was one tiny layer! I also paid extra for guac and it was a tiny smear added! For the price of the sandwich, this is ridiculous and a rip off. I didn’t pay all this money for bread!
On the flip side, I recently ordered the same sandwich from the Ike’s that is near SFSU and the amount of vegetarian bacon they put in there was multiple slices throughout the whole sandwich. Perfect! This particular location that I am reviewing is ripping people off. See the attached photo I included with my review for proof.

Vegan options always taste subpar. I had the “Time Travelers Wife” sandwich. It was gross to me. I’ve tried different locations and they are nasty. I will not waste my money at Ike’s Love & Sandwiches again. How hard is it to make a vegan sandwich taste good???

The customer service here is great! Luis took me and my twin’s order and was super cool and welcoming. The sandwiches are amazing as well – they’re super flavorful, and there is a huge variety. This was my first time at this place and I’ll definitely be coming back!

When I first walked up to the register the young woman finished with the customer in front of me and instead of saying I’ll be with you in just a moment or something like that, just turned on her heel and walked away. When she came back her tone was surly. I did get her till chuckle and lighten up when we talked about my name. But then when she called my name to pick up my sandwich, I picked it up at the counter and said thank you. All three of the staff members were standing right there and not a single one of them said you’re welcome or have a nice day something like that.

The girl who worked at the register last evening gave us extremely small portions of ingredients in our sandwiches. The sandwiches were super dry. They barely had 1 thin layer of veggies and only two thin slices of meat. Half the tables in there had trash and no one cared to clean them. Avoid this location if you can.

One of, if not, thee place for a sandwich. Absolutely must check out website first. Seriously if you have hard time making a decision, don’t go here, jk. Literally more than a thousand ways to have a sandwich. They post by nickname about 50 of the most popular in their area. They will customize anything to your liking. I’m talking way to many options to list. Your imagination is your only limitation here. Dirty and grandfather sauce are to die for. They even have mozzarella sticks they’ll put on your sandwich. Go check this out and thank me later. Remember to get your free sour apple sucker, gotta ask for it half the time. They also have a blow pop if you prefer.

This is my two cents about the wait time @ the new Serramonte location. If they expect people to go back for more and be returning customers in a location surrounded by so much competition, they need some management guidance. There are many other competitors in the area such as Mr. Pickles, Safeway, Subway and In-N-Out. They will need to pick up the slack if Ike’s Love and Sandwiches expects to get my business. It was slow and it took way too long for my sandwich to be finished.

Hot sandwiches are the trend here. Lots of different varieties of sandwiches with famous names. We ordered Jeremy stoppelman,Madison bumgarner and the matt cain. All were very good. Everyone sandwich had a signature sauce. Sandwiches average price was $10ea and that about average these days. Remember to ask for the apple caramel lollipops (free).
