. Very friendly and helpful Young folks. They carry non-alcoholic beer and regular beer. Good place to eat for Blue collar folks. They have bagged ice.

This place was great for a small town restaurant/gas station. The food was delicious, fresh, and affordable. I wish I got her name but she was running everything by herself, it was just us, she was really awesome. Funny. Fast worker, and doing it all alone.

Stopped by while we were camping and did not want to cook in the campsite again. Very, very nice to finally have someplace to eat in Mentone for dinner . The food was good and my grandchildren and I had a very pleasant experience. My grandkids always order their food cooked and fixed differently and it was spot on as they ordered it. They were happy and it was good. I hope you guys stay for a while.

I’ve stopped at this lovely little market before and gotten food and it was fine, but that was five years ago. I stopped again recently to get snacks, and there were no prices on anything in the store. I asked the guy what’s up? And he said what would you like to know the price of? I can’t rate the place on food quality because I walked out.

Really good food! Reminded me somewhat of Maltby Cafe in WA State. Server was great.

Not worth the money. The barbecue plate had just a little bit of meat. The French fries were only half cooked and cold. The hamburger steak was like rubber. The pizza, well if you can call it pizza was terrible. The bread that came with the meal tasted old. We spent 45 dollars and most of it went into the garbage. The people were very friendly though.

Helena’s looks like a gas station, because it IS a gas station. However, it is also an extremely good place to grab breakfast and lunch at reasonable prices. The cheeseburger is about as good as you will get anywhere…handmade ground chuck patty, and cooked upon ordering. Also, the servers there are about as sweet and attentive as you will find anywhere…anywhere.

Caveat: while Helena’s takes credit cards, it does so at the ‘gas station counter.’ This means you can’t leave a tip on there. So…be sure to bring a few dollars to put in the tip jar, because those ladies deserve it!

I bought some fried green tomatoes, was not expecting them to be very good. But darn, they were the best ones I have had in a long time.
