Wow. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Small intimate and definitely authentic. I think this was the best pasta I have ever had. We, my daughter and I , had the Ceviche and zucchini florettes as appetizers and then the lobster pasta and I have to say that was the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life!!! The service was excellent. Mario, the owner attended to us himself and took his time and helped me pick the wine that I would like best. I am definitely going to return here and recommend this place to my friends and family.

This is a small Italian restaurant with homemade food. I had a much better food experience here than the Italian spot I went to for lunch!

For starter, I shared polpetta, the veal meatballs (2 for CAD$18). The waiter warned us it would take a bit longer to come out. The meatballs had good seasoning, but it was not hot!? We found it weird that if they took so long to make it, why was it cold inside?

For pasta, I had the papardelle con ragu CAD$36. The pasta was al dente, very delicious. I recommend this dish! I also tried the ravioli con manzo CAD$34. This ravioli had braised beef inside. I honestly had low expectations because I don’t usually care for ravioli. The flavor was good, and the beef was not dry.

Credit card/Apple Pay accepted.
Bathroom inside to the right.
Indoor + outdoor seating.
Passed the vibe check.

A flawless experience from start to finish

I recently hosted our Department of Plastic Surgery Christmas dinner at Salumi Vino—a group of nearly 50 colleagues—and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Without a single exception, every person in attendance commented on the warmth, coziness, and intimate atmosphere of the restaurant.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the welcoming spirit and genuine hospitality of Mario, whose presence truly elevates the experience. His passion for the restaurant is palpable, and it sets the tone for an unforgettable evening.

The food was exceptionally authentic, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, and every dish felt crafted with care. Several guests even remarked that it was the best Italian cuisine they’ve had in Montreal.

And the wine list—simply unparalleled. Thoughtfully curated, diverse, and without question one of the best in the city.

Organizing an event for 50 people can be challenging, yet Salumi Vino made it effortless. The service was smooth, attentive, and genuinely warm.

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, whether for an intimate dinner or a large gathering. Salumi Vino delivered a perfect evening and set a new standard for us. We will absolutely be returning.

At Salumi Vino, you can find a menu full of delicious, traditional Italian dishes that have been cherished for generations. If you’re a pasta lover, you should try their pasta – it’s their specialty! The cheese hails all the way from Italy, making everything extra amazing. The restaurant has a decent selection of vegetarian options. Excellent service. It might not be the cheapest, but trust me, it’s worth it!

I dined here in late June with my parents on a special trip to Montréal. I’m from the U.S. and typically my standard Italian restaurant is Olive Garden, so when my dad said we were going to an Italian restaurant for dinner I expected Olive Garden. Much to my surprise, there are no Olive Gardens in Canada (or at the very least uncommon). I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I am so glad I came here. To start with, Monsieur Mario, whom I assume to be the owner, was so helpful and friendly! He is a nice man and helped me practice my French. When I asked if he served chicken parm or fettuccine Alfredo, Mario gently told me that that isn’t authentic Italian food. He was also very funny in explaining it to me, which I really appreciate. He didn’t make me feel embarrassed at all. The service was super friendly and quick; we got drinks within the first 5-10 minutes of ordering, and our food came out within 15-20 minutes. Now, when Mario says the food is authentic, he truly means it. It completely changed my American taste buds – and in a good way! I got the authentic spaghetti pasta dish, and it was the best Italian food I’ve ever had. My parents and I are coming back to Montréal soon, and we are sure to come back here for dinner. Merci beaucoup, Mario! C’était très délicieux!!

From the moment we walked in, everything about this place was absolutely fantastic. The authentic flavors took me straight back to Italy.

Highly recommend trying the scallop ceviche, truffle pasta, and finishing off with the tiramisu and a shot of espresso perfection from start to finish.

Thank you for sharing your culture and delicious dishes with us!
