Coach Street Cafe was our first real dive into Louisiana-style seafood, and overall it was a solid experience—different from what we’re used to, but worth trying. We ordered the catfish with rice, crawfish étouffée, a fried shrimp po’ boy, chicken wings, and finished with chocolate mousse. The fried shrimp po’ boy was the standout on the savory side—crispy shrimp, satisfying, and something we’d happily order again. The wings (especially with the BBQ sauce) were also a hit.

The crawfish étouffée was good, but it definitely had that stronger seafood aroma that can feel a little intense if you’re not used to it. It wasn’t “bad” at all—just a new flavor profile for us, and it took a minute to get comfortable with it. The catfish and rice was comforting and enjoyable, and the chocolate mousse was genuinely awesome—easily the best part of the meal and the one thing I’d recommend without hesitation.

Service was a big plus. We went on Christmas Eve, and our waitress (don’t remember her name) took great care of us—patiently walking us through the menu and making the whole experience feel welcoming, especially since we were trying this cuisine for the first time.

I was in town for work and wasn’t expecting much since everything around my hotel seemed to be fast food. Luckily I came across this place. The food was incredible, Emma was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt genuinely welcoming.

I had the Catfish Étouffée for dinner and the Bread Pudding for dessert, both packed with flavor! Emma offered great menu recommendations and even shared some helpful info about the area.

I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

We went for dinner and were told to sit wherever. After receiving menus and our drinks, the waitresses proceeded to take orders from two individuals that were seated after us. They were busy socializing with their friends and family. On top of that, the food left little to be desired with little flavor. This is the second time within the month that service at this establishment has been lacking.

Our waitress I think her name was Kelsie was so sweet and made excellent recommendations. The portion sizes were exceptional, the atmosphere charming, and the prices were reasonable. Definitely a hidden gem in Port Allen. I will most definitely return and tell other to try them out.

This small place hit a home run with me…. all the way up to the bill. The food and atmosphere here were just exquisite. It was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in quite some time, and you can tell everything was freshly cooked and crispy. Normally, I do not get dessert, but they said everything was homemade, so why not! Again, I just knocked it out of the park! No to the one downside. Got the bill, and there was an extra charge for using a credit card to pay the bill… huh… isn’t that a cost of doing business. Understand this I would return as the food is that good!

I recently had breakfast at the Court Street Cafe in Port Allen and was very pleased. The service was quick and friendly. I liked the atmosphere, with several old photos of the town posted for view and comfortable seating. They also have a nice outdoor seating area. The food was good and cooked very well.
