Social Profile:

Located within the Hamilton Piazza precinct on Beaumont St, sits authentic Italian restaurant, In Forno. The man behind In Forno, Harry, has a passion for Italian food, in particular, the way in which pizzas are made, right from the flour used to the final touches of toppings. The space itself consists of both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can enjoy a long boozy summer lunch with a cocktail under the low hanging plants in the courtyard, or head inside for a warm beverage in the cooler months. That big brick wall is certainly giving diners their first jaw-drop moment and learning about how they came to be here, you can understand why.

We dined in on a late Sunday lunch during summer and were warmly greeted by the amazing staff, especially Angelie(?). She was incredibly accommodating with our requests and brought such a cheerful, welcoming energy to our visit.

We ordered:
• Truffle & Parmesan Fries — absolutely delicious!
• Mafalda Boscaiola — we love white-sauce pastas and this one did not disappoint.
• Beef Cheek — incredibly tender and full of flavour.
• Prosciutto Parma — chef’s kiss

Everything was beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. When we visit in Newcastle, we will definitely be stopping by again to try more dishes.

A must try! ⭐️

Nice italian in Newcastle. The calamari is a must for entree, so highly recommend that as a starter they were so tender and tasty. Garlic bread was undercooked without much butter or garlic yet the kids loved it. The hot honey pizza was excellent, so highly recommend it. The gnocchi was disappointing, a bit too firm without much flavour so would not get that next time. The strawberry tiramisu was also disappointing and tasted nothing like a tiramisu so would definitely try the cannoli next time. Would try again. Service and atmosphere were good and was family friendly and well priced. The men’s toilet needs to be fixed and cleaned.

This is our fav Italian restaurant in the newy area.
Foods are always tasty, woodfire pizzas have great bases and a good amount of toppings. Vegan options are excellent. Enjoy a lovely vegan Panna cotta presented so beautifully!
Staff are friendly. The waiter we had on last Saturday was very accommodating, made sure we were well cared for.
Atmosphere is great outside. Could possibly do with some outdoor fans or misters is the heat but amazing sitting under the plants.
We will be back very soon

I have wanted to try this place for a long time. I feel a little let down. We did not book at table and we were a walk in and we were given a table down a small alley way next to an unpainted wall and really not nice. Maybe my fault should booked a table inside the restaurant. I tried the focacca for entree, don’t waste your money on this ($11), small serving and nothing special. Maybe spend a little more and go for the olives, Calamari or Chilli prawns which all looked good when coming out to other tables. My main, “Papperdella pasta” was lacking taste and needed something more for it to be good, it was average at best. Good serving size though. The service was excellent, staff were attentive even though they were busy. We might give “In Ferno” another go and order different meals, they were extremely busy and I like supporting local business.

Inferno is our go-to place for special occasions, but also the first choice whenever we’re craving Italian food. Everything about it is beautiful — the quality, the atmosphere, and most importantly the flavours.

From appetisers right through to desserts, every dish is high quality and absolutely packed with flavour — in the best way possible! You can really tell the care that goes into each plate.

An amazing Italian restaurant and always a standout experience. Highly recommend!

What a treat! Every dish we sampled was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and packed with bold, delicious flavours

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it was clear how much passion and creativity has gone into the new offerings. From start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience-and if this preview is anything to go by, newy foodies are in for a serious treat!
Can’t wait to come back and try the full menu!!!

Had lunch on a rainy Saturday and it was so worth finding this restaurant. The slow cooked lamb pasta was the best I’ve ever had. I have never had chilli in lamb before, it was so tasty and I think the deep flavour must have been bone marrow. It was amazing. Great wine list to match the meal. The atmosphere makes you feel a world away. Very enjoyable experience. Staff attentive, helpful and friendly. Highly recommend

I had high hopes for a great experience here based on the reviews but unfortunately the food just wasn’t that great. We were seated and waited quite a while for our drink order to be taken so we ordered our food at the same time and were told it would be a while because it was Saturday night. That’s fine cause the food was supposed to be amazing. I ordered two entrees and a salad. A crispy pork belly which was a good size for an entree but the crackling had a burned taste to it. The fried mozzarella with honey sauce was OK but the calbrese salad had soft, mushy tomato and only two peices of basil on the plate. The pasta my daughter ordered was overcooked and quite tasteless. Her partners pizza was just not made and when she went up to ask about it everyone was just looking in our tables direction with their mouth open. They did make it quite quickly after that and it was really nice, and they did apologise but she was eating on her own because we had already finished our meals . I noticed the table next to us were brought the wrong pizza and they had been waiting longer than us. There seemed to be a few staff around the bar area but they weren’t serving or waiting the tables and it was quite hard to catch anyone’s attention. Jay, our waiter was absolutely lovely. He was very obliging but very busy trying to give his excellent service to everyone.
The cocktails were really nice. The desserts were OK but the tira misu was disappointing.
Based on other reviews, maybe lunch is a better time to go but unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be going back based on this experience.

My partner and I had our 1 year anniversary here, the customer service that Maddie presented us with was some of, if not the best customer service we have received.
The food and atmosphere were both amazing.
