We visisted Saktar on two weekends ago, on a Saturday night. Thje ambience is intimate, quiet and clean.
We ordered a Chaat appetizer and Garlic Naan, depicted below, which were both very tasty.
I then ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh, whose meat was wonderfully tender and full of flavor. My wife ordered the Baigan Bartha – fire-roasted eggplant mashed and mixed with spices – and savored every bite.
Our server was excellent, tactfully asking what spice level we preferred, answering all queries and providing expeditious non-intrusive service.
Even though Tampa is not lacking in quality Indian Restaurants, I recommend Saktar for the quality of its food, for its service and for its comfortable atmosphere.

My wife has traveled the world and come to love Indian cuisine. She’s always been afraid to take us for dear that it would be a bad experience and it would not introduce us to singing she loved. This place nailed the aromas and flavors she remembered from trips to India and London. From the Chicken 65 appetizer to the Ginger Chicken, Chicken Jalfrezi and the Tandoori Mixed platter to the Rose ice cream for dessert… Everything was amazing.

Ordered food from this place during my business visit. Got the onion uttapam and lamb curry. The taste was okay. Very small quantity of lamb curry that was charged 22 bucks and had 4-5 small pieces of lamb meat lol. The uttapam was okay and tasted fine. The lamb curry was not like the way I expected, wish it had more flavor. Sambar and chutney was really good though.

First visit tonight…very impressed. Great variety of both veg & non veg options. Had the veg thali & lamb korma as well as the sada onion dosa…all very good. Mina was gracious, attentive and courteous…so was Satish. Great portions, had to take home some. Will definitely be back soon.

Thank you Mohammed A for ur Hospitality. This was our 3rd visit and i made sure i waited to get the name of the staff who was more than efficient each time we visited . He was all smiles and always helpful n quick with his service. I would give 4 star for the food just cuz the chicken biryani we had during our last visit was a miss ! It was extremely oily n slaty. The rest of the dishes we have tried ao far was delicious. The vada sambar was tops the list and so does the pepper chicken. A must try. The naans are freshly made and soft and flavorful. Thank you mohammed for the great service . We appreciate it.

Very good! I usually get the ck madas but have tried many different dishes and have enjoyed many! The naam bread has always tasted very fresh and the dishes are aromatic and flavorful.
Update: i have visited here a few more times this year. Still consistent and flavorful! The milky-cream sauce has been thick every time. Portions are affordable, food is fresh, staff is very friendly and attentive.

Tried Mysore masala dosa, cheese masala dosa and medu vada. Dosa was good and the service was fast. Medu vada’s tasted like they have been fried in the reused oil which was a disappointment. Ambience is good. It wasn’t much busy. An average experience.

Ordered Vada, Mysore masala Dosa and paper dosa, it was not tasty and not authentic and not good at all. Hindu temple canteen is the best for Dosa and Vada in Tampa area.

While I was initially nervous about the string of poor reviews, I decided to go out on a limb and try out this local spot.
Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The food was quick, hot, and well spiced, service was friendly and prompt, and any issues from previous reviews were either handled or non-existent, including pricing!
