I really enjoyed everything I had. We started with sourdough bread, which was excellent. Scallops crudo was unique with a bit of hot peppers. Aged duck was very tasty. I enjoyed the desert least. Not a lot of interesting options and gelato I had was very ordinary compared the rest of the dinner. The restaurant is located in the renovated old building, a beautiful job making it feel both historic and modern. The service was attentive. Overall, a very pleasant dinner and we will be back

We had such an amazing experience at Louie’s! The food was incredible — everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and you can feel the care that went into bringing the restaurant back after the fire.
Our server, Kenny, was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made the evening so enjoyable. You can tell the team truly cares about creating a great guest experience.
Huge congratulations to James and the entire Louis team on the reopening — the restaurant looks stunning and absolutely delivers on every level. Can’t wait to come back soon!

The return of Louie’s was worth the wait. You have to come here! Everything was excellent — the drinks, the food, and the service were 10/10. The spot is beautifully renovated… nice high ceilings with a beautiful wine fridge right in the center of the spot. I could not be more excited to have this restaurant back in Portsmouth.

As a regular to the original Louie’s, I was saddened by the fire related damage that forced them to close. I somewhat frequent visitor to the Carriage House, which is superb, I was thrilled to see that Louie’s was returning to Portsmouth. Finally got there the other night. Certainly, worth the wait and expect to return frequently. Parking is plentiful, but it will lack the walk-in vibe that was generated at the downtown location.
The restaurant was well designed and will be a haven for those looking to host business clients or for date night. The food is extremely well prepared and presented. The wait staff well train, pleasant and professional.
Can’t recommend it enough. I was so excited to be back that I even forgot to take any pictures of the dishes.

My husband and I had a fantastic evening last night at Louie’s. From the second we walked in the door until heading home everything was first class. A welcome greeting by owner, James, the bustling bar and a wonderful corner table really set the stage. The sourdough with whipped ricotta was superb and a great start with our martini. The menu is extremely creative and offers a wide variety of selections for all. Chef Jeremy and sous chef Jake really nailed it! Our entrees were excellent and we can’t wait to go back. Our server, Kenny was friendly and attentive. The staff was aware but didn’t hover. Dave, the GM checked on us during the meal. Great service! Thank you to all.

Fabulous experience …. top marks all around. There were four of us and between us we enjoyed the scallop crudo, the sourdough, the cacio pepe (enough to split between two as a starter), the lamb (2 of us ordered it), the duck and the flounder. We were all clean plate club members. And the espresso ice cream with a bruleed marshmallow meringue on top was hands down the best of the two desserts we tried (the other being the chocolate cake which was good but the ice cream was exceptional). Service was well-paced and attentive. Definitely a splurge sort of place but well worth it in our opinion.

Overall it was very good. Had the Bang Island toast and the roast flounder, both were first rate.
