While visiting home, I requested we eat at Frank’s Pizza — a place I’ve been going to since I was a kid. I was excited to take my boys and share a spot that’s been a longtime favorite of mine.
We ordered the calamari, kids spaghetti and meatballs, kids hot dog and fries, and a medium pizza with extra mushrooms. I was genuinely shocked at how large the kids spaghetti and meatballs portion was. It even came with a side salad, and the portion was so generous that we took it home and made an entire second meal out of it. That alone felt like a win.
As always, the pizza was amazing and the main reason I wanted to come back. If you ask for extra mushrooms, they absolutely deliver — so be sure you really love mushrooms because they do not hold back. The calamari was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, exactly how it should be.
Our only food critique was the kids hot dog. The bun wasn’t a traditional hot dog bun but rather a hoagie-style roll that was very toasty, crunchy, and a bit hard. My son ended up eating just the hot dog and leaving the bread behind.
The biggest downside of our visit was the timing of the food. One son received his salad first, followed by the garlic bread, then his spaghetti. About five minutes later our pizza arrived, but we still hadn’t received the calamari we ordered as an appetizer. Meanwhile, my other son was still waiting on his hot dog, which didn’t arrive until about ten minutes after the pizza came out. The staggered timing made it a little awkward to eat together.
That said, I would absolutely go back — if only for the pizza. Frank’s still holds a lot of nostalgia for me, and the quality of the pizza alone makes it worth returning.

We ordered a meatball sub and a cheddar cheesesteak with onions. The cheesesteak was tasteless, cheese tasted like nothing, and whoever made the onions didn’t bother to peel it. Hard unchewable pieces of onion skin, unchewable , and it was gross to pick them out of my mouth. Reminded me of chewing on wax paper or a rubber band. Won’t be coming back, and would love a refund for that terrible cheesesteak. Photos attached of Just what was in half of the sandwich.
Haven’t tried the meatball sub yet.

Understanding pizza ratings in the Lehigh Valley are very important. First off there is no great pizza here. Yes, I have been to the them all. This place gets points for cleanliness and friendliness. Overall, the pizza itself is average. Pictures speak 1000 words. In this region crust is typically underdone and eats like white bread, not crispy, fake cheese and unremarkable sauce. But if you’re in the area and are looking for pizza, this will do.

So, I have celiac disease and I specifically checked this place out because online, it says that the owners son has celiac and so they are very careful about cross contamination. Well, I’ll start with the good. The Sicilian personal pan pizza is actually pretty damn good, though toppings being almost $2 each is… a lot. The pizza was the whole reason I came back a second time. The gluten free meatballs were pretty decent too. Now for the bad, the pasta sauce was mediocre and even that’s kind of a generous statement. The pasta itself is pretty mushy but ive come to expect that of most gluten free Pasta to be fair. The up-charges for gluten free substitutions are INSANE in some cases. Like, grilled chicken instead of fried is a $2 up-charge which makes no sense since it is literally less ingredients. Gluten free Pasta is a $4 up-charge, highest I have seen at any pizza place restaurant i have been to since my diagnosis. And the worst was, I ordered a gluten free specialty pizza not realizing the meatballs on the pizza would not be the gluten free ones which I guess is kind of on me? But no one told me when I ordered and I did specify that I was sensitive celiac and stressed the importance thay everything be gluten free. So, I also got glutened here. Maybe it’s fine for people with no dietary restrictions but celiacs beware!

Have been here occasionally always great food & service..this time I was disappointed they were obviously slow since everyone I saw was on their phones..which is fine I’ve worked restaurants for years..its slow. But at least put them away to service someone when they walk in & make their food before watching videos together ♀️ this is supposed to be “light sauce” as stated…this is covered in sauce mozzarella sticks were soggy & cheese was semi hard.. wasn’t happy this time

Good food, but it could have been better. With the burgers, they should ask how you want them cooked mine came and it was dry. Chef salad for two was nice, decent size.

As a long time Frank’s customer, it sucks to leave a negative review, but here it is…
We ordered a sausage and bacon pizza. We received a SPICY sausage and ONION (red and white) pizza! Just awful.
I ordered a piece of pizza with pepperoni and pineapple. The slice was cold and the pineapple was just thrown on top, not actually warmed up or cooked in like it should be. The WORST part is, the pineapple tasted fermented and smelled like beer. We were unable to eat any of it. When we called to explain the situation they said the onions must be shredded sausage. and we can bring the pizza back tomorrow since it’s 21:30. It’s like we threw the money out the window and are still hungry.
Update: 12hrs later. Now I am sick. Nausea and vomiting first thing in the morning. Unbelievable! What kind of bacteria was on those pineapples!?
