From the moment you walk in, the waitresses—from the greeter to the one assigned to your table—treat you with genuine warmth. They make you feel at home, not like those places where it seems they’re doing you a favor by serving you. The atmosphere here is the opposite: friendly, attentive, and sincerely welcoming.
The food had me saying, “¡Ay Dios mío, esto está tan bueno!” Every bite was packed with flavor. And the beer? A key part of the experience. I ordered a tall frozen Dos XX, and the mug was so cold it actually froze the beer, making it taste ten times better. Perfectly refreshing.
Even though I was completely satisfied, everything was so good that I ended up craving a flan. If you don’t know what flan is, you’ve got to try it—I even attached a picture of the one I had to this review. It was the perfect sweet finish.
I’ve already recommended this restaurant to a coworker and friend, and he told me he’ll be here tomorrow. That alone says a lot.

Normally when I review a restaurant, I say something, like “it was very good, I would eat there every day, but it’s the same as every other Mexican restaurant.” For El Jaripeo, that’s not the case. While the menu was almost identical to the standard Mexican restaurant, everything else was just a little bit better. All of the staff we’re very nice, had personality, talk to you like a person, and genuinely acted like they were glad you were there. The restaurant was cleaner than most other Mexican restaurants and more up-to-date. The food was just a little bit better than most Mexican restaurants, and the salsa was some of the best I’ve ever had. Please don’t change a thing!

I visited El Jaripeo yesterday and had a fantastic dining experience! I ordered the chimichangas and veggie enchiladas, and both dishes were delicious. The taste was spot on and the portions were generous.
But what really stood out was the excellent service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, I highly recommend El Jaripeo for a tasty and satisfying meal. I’ll definitely be back!

I decided to take my mom for lunch today since we hadn’t been back in a long while and love this place previously… When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the hostess and seated, the server came not too long after and took our drink orders. When she came back with our drinks we placed our food order and although the food came a lot quicker, the server was nowhere to be found… We sat there waiting and seeing if they would pass by but it seems the servers were hanging around the bar just socializing instead of checking in on their tables. Food was delivered by the hostess and we never saw the waitress that took our orders initially again… No problem if everyone is helping out but we had empty drinks and no napkins and we had to get up to find some help as no one bothered to check… The place is virtually empty as you can see in the pictures submitted and not once were we asked if our food was okay or something as simple as offering a refill on a glass of water that was empty.. I work in hospitality and customer service as well and know it can be a bit overwhelming if it’s busy but at this time there was only two other tables besides me and my mother. This definitely affected our experience as they weren’t attentive only when dropping off the check and after that it was quick…
If it’s that slow checking on tables once after food arrives shouldn’t be too hard to do with as many staff that they had in the restaurant hanging out at the bar.

Pre meal salsa was very good and the chips were hot out of the oven. My lunch Fajita texanas was a perfect sized portion for a lunch meal at a fair price. The blend of chicken, shrimp, beef, and veggies were very evenly portioned. Our waitress did a wonderful job with all our needs and served 3 of us very well.
If you’re out that way dobt hesitate to stop in and get you some real good food.

We always go to the one in culpeper. We stopped here tonight on the way home and really enjoyed it. We’ve never had any complaints about this restaurant. We had the malenque special. Grilled Chicken with yellow rice and mushrooms with zucchini. Absolutely delicious.

edit: my girlfriend is very forgiving, and ordered from here several more times. they got it right every time after i made this review. I’ll update again based on if they keep this up.
how many times can a place get our order wrong consecutively? we ask for no cheese every time, and have gotten cheese on 100% of the takeout orders we’ve made.
this time they also obviously forgot the order we placed half an hour ago (they weren’t busy) and started making it when we were picking up. this wouldn’t have bothered us if not for the fact it’s rice and beans we called ahead for.

This place keeps getting worse and worse every time I go. Went yesterday and the tables are always dirty. The drinks are always a miss. The diet Pepsi tastes like sweet tea and they keep giving me gas water when I ask for sprite. Atleast its priced affordability.

I’m done, Went thursday. Got the chipotle burrito. Instantly got sick and to run to the restroom. I felt like an absolute idiot paying $20 for food poisoning. The Bathrooms are well maintained at least.

Food is great and the service is far better here than at the Ruckersville location. Also the restaurant is bigger with a nicer bar and better decor. The shrimp quesadilla was fantastic. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, not over done and rubbery.
