Shabu Works in San Marcos is one of our favorite go-to restaurants—we come about once a month and it never disappoints. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and comfortable, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal.
The food is very good for the price, especially considering the quality and variety. If you get a membership (only $35 per year), you receive great discounts—$4 off lunch or $5 off dinner per person, which adds up quickly.
They also offer daily specials for different customers, such as kids eating free on Tuesdays, birthday meals, and military discounts, which we really appreciate. Dinner options include Wagyu beef, and the drink selection is extensive with plenty of choices. Don’t miss the shaved ice dessert—it’s delicious and refreshing.
Overall, great value, great food, and consistent quality. Highly recommended for north county.

The sichuan-Mala soup base is a must to try if you love spicy soup, I like that they have the free drink station, and can put customized toppings. The meat qualify varies, sometime the meat came apart, some meat is good. Friendly service.

What a great experience! We thought that because we came last minute, around 8 PM, we wouldn’t be able to eat as much or fully enjoy it since they close at 9, but that wasn’t the case. At first, I felt rushed to eat, but actually, once I got my first serving, I didn’t feel rushed at all, and we ended up eating a ton of food. Next time, I’ll definitely come earlier to enjoy everything a bit more.
This place is amazing. All the veggies were super fresh, and the meat wasn’t frozen like it is at some places. The udon noodles were great, and even some of their pre-made items like the teriyaki chicken, kimchi, and other sides were really good too. For broth, we got the garlic miso and one of their top sellers that was suggested to us. I can’t remember the name, but it was really good.

This is one of the best all-you-can-eat hot pot spots I’ve been to! The selection is fresh and well organized, and there’s a great variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and sauces. Everything was clean and constantly refilled, which made the experience even better.

Came here for hot pot and had a really great experience. The ingredients were fresh, the broth was flavorful, and there were plenty of options for meats, vegetables, and sauces. The restaurant was also very clean and comfortable, which made the meal even more enjoyable.
Our server Li Dong was fantastic—very friendly, attentive, and quick to help whenever we needed something. His service really stood out and made the whole experience even better.

Always enjoy coming to eat at Shabu! The meats are always fresh and full plates, there is a great variety of veggies and noodles. There is also a great variety of different soup broths to choose from and the service is incredible. The servers are always making sure to grab more plates of meat and filling broth, very fast and easy ordering experience. I regularly bring friends to try and enjoy Shabu with me!
