Looking for a late night spot since everything else closes at 9 (this one closes at 10 on weekdays) and found this gem. The atmosphere was great, music was chill but not to mellow and the food was very delicious! Shrimp egg rolls are a new favorite and the daikon salad was on point! Definitely adding this place on our regular list.

We chose this spot based on previous Google reviews, and thank goodness for the power of a good Google review!

This spot is a knock-out. Extremely authentic Japanese cuisine, heavily leaning towards sushi, but the menu has some excellent items that show off the skills of the whole kitchen crew.

We tried three selections of yakitori and they were well done. Could have used a bit more char on the chicken thighs, but that is a small critique.

The sushi menu is varied, from maki, negiri, sushi and specialty rolls. All hand made with great care. Nothing comes quickly from the kitchen, which is also a good sign.

The ramen was very flavorful, packed with noodles still containing a bite, pork, egg etc.

The real star was the Cha Soba, which you rarely see outside of Japan. A summer dish where the noodles are served cold, with a dipping sauce and vegetable tempura. This was a surprise hit with me.

The Caribbean Jack was more like a dessert than a drink, it was so delicious!

The Natsu Mango rolls and Ramen were very good!!

Our server was super nice and professional, the atmosphere was relaxed and easy.

There’s patio seating if you want to sit outside, but it’s noisy with traffic.

Inside was nice, low lightning, wasn’t loud or chaotic.

The prices were all very reasonable.

This has to be the best sushi I have ever had in my life. The fusion of flavors here are prepared by master chefs who are generous in the portions of ingredients and present each roll as a work of art. The Miyazaki roll is a sight to behold. We also got the my darling roll and the sugarhouse roll. The rolls were so fresh and flavorful every bite had me wanting more. The meal ended with fried cheesecake so sinfully good I was shamelessly lapping it up like a dog drinking from the bowl. We will absolutely be back. I am so glad we found such a great spot in the city.

We have been coming to Kaze for long time and we loved their sushi. Sadly we ordered the Toro Sushi which did not look or taste like Toro Sushi. Ordered mango which was topped with a strawberry instead of mango and it was not sweet like a regular mango sushi. We order the Kioto and it was not good at all. From 4 rolls I only enjoyed 1 which was the rainbow one. My partner ate the others ones because he believes in not wasting food, but that shouldn’t be how we should feel. The Toro Sushi was pretty disgusting, my partner could not stomach eating it. We won’t be coming back here again. The chef and the menu has changed now that got bought out. When I asked the waitress to exchange the Toro Sushi, she said, “I am sorry, this is not an online store” . The other waitress later tiled us Toro was actually an expensive sushi and people like it. Judge for yourself. I will miss the old owners of Kaze.

Great spot downtown. Service was friendly and quick, and the food was excellent. I had the double spiced tuna sushi—super fresh with the perfect kick. Prices were very affordable for the quality. Would definitely come back.

I was about to write another review not realizing I had already wrote a five star review for this place. I have come here so many times I’ve been too many other sushi restaurants in Salt Lake specially near downtown and this place I would say is even better than sapa the fish is fresh. The service is great and the food/menu is even better. I’ve never had a bad experience here and I’ve probably been here about 10 to 15 times I’m from San Diego California and so I feel like my expectations of sushi are high. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody

The staff is wonderful and so was the food! Probably some of the best tasting appetizers I’ve had at a sushi restaurant. Highly recommend to try the variety of them. The atmosphere was cozy and didn’t feel crowded even when they were busy.
