Truly not enough descriptive words to express the level of freshness, taste and welcoming vibe we experienced at Karma Sushi. Honestly the BEST sushi I’ve had in forever. James and his staff are a 10+ (no exaggeration). They greet you like family and take care of you like only an owner runned business could. I’m hooked and can’t stop eating here!!!! Was just there for Mother’s Day and returning next week to share with a friend. A MUST TRY.

Super delicious Omakase experience! I’d definitely like to go back on a week night for a few rolls.

We did a double date here the other night and there was a mixup with our order and we waited a long time but they made it right.

I definitely recommend the Omakase experience! My favorite was the nigiri and sashimi. Super fresh and all the details on top of the fish were delicious. Creamy caviar at one point !

This place is in a busy area, so parking is hard, get there early! I appreciate the upscale vibe in the midst of a lot of restaurants, its stands apart!

Hands down the best sushi restaurant in LA! Once you get a taste of Chef James’s culinary experience, you will want to go back every day. A true addiction.

First of all, James’ hospitality and care he exudes is unmatched.

My girlfriend and I decided on grabbing dinner at Karma last minute and we heard it was open. Being that we LOVE sushi, we took the risk as two hungry people should never do .

We were in for an incredible surprise. We opt for the sushi bar whenever possible. The ambience was pleasant and the neon sign near the bathroom was a nice touch .

Words cannot describe how delectable the fish was. We had Bluefin Tuna, King Crab, Caviar, Edamame (drool) and we were even introduced to a new sake called Den.

This is our new spot and you’ll see why when you view the photos. We highly recommend this spot if you’re in the valley or in Sherman Oaks.

Been eyeing this bar for a couple of weeks and they finally opened today.
The place is not very large and cozy. Bar has a decent list of cocktails and they offer sake tasting flights.
The dinner menu has many options. Didn’t expect to see oysters and light version of omakase at a fair price.
I do however think that a lot of other items are a tad bit overpriced.
I ordered crispy rice, tuna tartar, and 1 sushi roll (= $75 before gratuity).

The service was promp from beginning to end. They have valet parking right outside, parking structure behind MidiCi pizza across the street or you can try to find a meter on Ventura.

Karma was an amazing, elevated sushi experience! The owners James and Urje were more than hospitable and accommodated me and my date to the fullest extent. The bluefin tuna was the start of the show, not the toro, get the bluefin sushi!! the scallop hand roll was the most tender and buttery scallops i’ve ever had. The music and vibes were great, super cool and swanky atmosphere. They have high-end prices but the quality of the fish, service, and serve meats reflects accordingly. Great for a date spot. I would absolutely go back when I am craving the highest quality sushi no doubt.

My wife and I have passed the spot a few times but finally had a chance to check it out.

We did their Lite Omakase and had a cocktail each. The cocktails were surprisingly good (samui watermelon and jasmine tea) but arguably $1-2 more than I would have expected. I probably would have gotten another had they been even a little cheaper. The sushi was phenomenally and plated beautifully but a bit small for the price. I almost felt like I needed one hearty side of something with rice, or even just some rice with the sashimi to make it perfect. To be fair, I was not hungry afterwards.

The service was fine but seemed either inexperienced or a little out of touch with each other. Our host was pretty soft spoken and even seemed a little nervous. They were very kind to let us walk ahead of them when being seated but I quickly realized, “I don’t know where I am going” and asked them to lead. They checked in with us a few times, with kindness but also seemingly unsure what to say to us. Later in the night a second server asked us what we would like for dessert after we had already placed that order. Again, super kind and polite, just seemed like they were still figuring it out a bit.

The venue is beautiful. Lots of rainbow colors hidden in all of the deep blacks is super cool. Murals and tableware, all of it was super slick and unique. I would suggest to the staff that unless the place is packed, not to seat people right at the end of the sushi bar where people come in and out of the kitchen. That was a bit distracting, not because I don’t love watching that kind of activity but because I felt like I was in the way sitting at the end. Additionally, there was something about the acoustics of the spot we were sitting (sushi bar) where I could barely hear the chef and the people talking to me. Not because it was too loud, it was almost like the sound was being dampened by something. Not horrible but it made it difficult to hear what the chef was saying.

That said, we plan to come back and try a few different things.
