From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere at Manila Bay Express was warm and authentic, and the food felt comforting right away.
We ordered the Signature Platter and Pork Soup. I have a number of allergies. I am gluten free, soy free, and have several others. My friend is dairy free and allergic to sesame, along with additional restrictions. Trying new places can be exhausting, but the staff here was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating.
They were able to customize dishes to fit all of our allergies without hesitation. I was even able to take some pancit (ponsit) home, which is not something I often get to enjoy.
Why we loved it
• The food was Genuinely Delicious, well prepared, and thoughtfully made
• The staff was extremely Accommodating, showing strong allergy awareness and confidence when answering questions
• The atmosphere felt welcoming, authentic, comfortable, inclusive, and genuinely Relatable
• The Menu Variety allowed me to enjoy an entrée, an appetizer, a side, dessert, and a drink while staying within my dietary needs
• Easy Accessibility with convenient access and parking
• The overall environment felt warm and Neat, with smooth ordering and checkout that made the entire experience feel effortless
Bottom line
Manila Bay Express made dining out feel safe, welcoming, and enjoyable. If you navigate food allergies or simply want delicious Filipino comfort food, this spot is absolutely worth a visit.
GG: 6/6

I had never tried Filipino food, so I didn’t know what to expect. Manila Bay DID NOT disappoint. I tried their Signature Platter and pork soup. The owner & chef was even kind enough to come sit down with us and tell us about Filipino food and what went into the dishes. It was great to learn about Filipino food and the fact no processed food goes into their dishes. I will definitely be coming back to this little gem.

As a fellow Filipino I Tried Manila Bay and loved it. I had pancit, lumpia, sinigang, and halo-halo, and everything was authentic and flavorful. The food came out quick, the staff were super friendly, and the cozy atmosphere made it easy to relax. Definitely feels like real Filipino home cooking—I’ll be back for sure.

The food was great, really liked the garlic rice and fried plantain dessert. Broasted is no misspelling, it’s a pressure fried and more mosey inside. Saturday buffets paused right now, hopefully they’ll bring it back in the future.

A taste of home.
Sinigang and grilled pompano were so delicious that it gives me a feeling of comfort like a warm hug that takes me straight back to the Philippines. Every bite reminded me of home-cooked meals, family gatherings, and all the flavors I grew up with. The portions were generous too and the staff were so friendly. 5 stars!!

I was curious to try out this restaurant when it recently opened, and I have to say that the food is very good! I do think it is a tad bit too pricey for the limited options you get on the buffet, but the food is very filling. It was the first time I tried Filipino food, which was remarkable! I definitely would try it out again whenever I’m in the area. Great customer service and a great atmosphere.

My wife and I stopped in on the way back from a long journey from Sturgis rally back to FL. They gave great conversation, catered to us like family and certainly fed us like family too! The inside is well organized and clean. Staff is very friendly and the food is AMAZING! It makes me wish we lived nearby, but now we know our forever pit-stop for the future! My Filipino wife vouches for pure authentic food too, with real ingredients used there. This huge and beautiful tray had many things on it, all of it was absolutely perfect. 10 stars to you if I could!

The foods served are undoubtedly delicious. Though, the dinuguan was a ‘lil salty, but still great to pair with their sticky rice instead of the jasmine rice.
There are some unavailable merienda specialties due to their home orders, thus we weren’t able to order for take out.
The food prices are basically reasonable, so don’t forget to leave a tip. They’ve got a pretty much small space just to savour dining Filipino dishes which is uncommon in the northwestern midwest.

Another Grandview gems that one should not miss!!! (Women owned business, I think)
Has been serving authentic Filipino food for a while now. Approved by one of my Filipino friend too. If you’re new to this cuisine, I’d recommend trying their Pork adobo and Lumpia.
For a change, I tried Bicol express. The meat was tender and soup/gravy has some flavor to it. Served with some sticky rice.
You probably end up waiting around 10-15 minutes max after ordering your food. Ambiance is clean & good enough for a good time.

Here in Kansas City for my son’s soccer tournament. I was looking for Filipino Restaurant to try and this came up in my search. Reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. We ordered Calamari, Sisig, Bicol Express and Fried Chicken. I am very disappointed. First they did not have any change for my cash, thats ok I happen to have some smaller bills in my wallet. The staff had to come back to our table 2x to double check he got our oder right. We waited more than an hour and a half to get our food, I was actually ready to just ask for a refund and go somewhere else but my husband wanted to give them more time. They brought it packed to go when we said we were dining in. I asked for cups to get water and also to pour our sodas in but we never got it. As for food… 1. Calamari didnt have any flavor and they don’t even have dipping sauce for it. 2. Sisig was very salty, it could use more onions for flavor and it was very oily. 3. Bicol Express was so bad. I feel like I was given some kind of pork fat sinigang with a little bit of coconut milk instead of Bicol Express. I dont know if this is a different version of Bicol Express but definitely just skip ordering it if you are even considering it. 4. Fried Chicken was good, my daughter loved it. It was crispy and flavorful.
The place is decorated well but a bit dirty. I definitely think I wasted my time and money trying out this place. Please do not make the same mistake!
