Passed by this place for years but never tried it. The beef short ribs were very tender and flavorful. Out of the 3 I had 1 was a little charred. The beans had a very strong tomato base which I wasn’t a fan of. These are not your typical sweet baked bean but if you like more of a tomato base they might be for you. The lady at the front taking orders was nice. Overall, nice no frills bbq spot.

So glad we found this BBQ for our lunch date. Delicious food, cozy location. The weather was perfect for dining outdoors.

Okay, so boom… me & my partner moved to this area last year and have been wanting to try Big Bad Wolf BBQ.

Because #1 I’m from Alabama and lived in TN for 8 years so I love a good BBQ & #2 the little yellow building is so stinking cute!!!

Upon arrival, the inside of the place was as expected. Quaint little space. A normal sized counter where you can order your food. We decided to order a full rack of pork ribs with the Kansas City Sweet sauce & a side of the Kansas City spicy sauce. We also got the family style mac&cheese, potato salad, & candied yams (as seen in the pics). As well as the “Big Bad Wolf” sandwich. The wait was only 15 minutes.

Full rack of Pork Ribs – FALL. OFF. THE. BONE. You do NOT need teeth to eat these. The Kansas City sweet sauce didn’t have as much depth as the spicy sauce so I’d say I preferred the spicy sauce. But these were REALLY good. I’d def go back for the ribs.

“Big Bad Wolf” – my partner got this and said it had the makings of a REALLY good sandwich. The meat, sauce, etc. was really good. But the bread tasted old, like it had been sitting around. But they still ate the whole thing so that tells you how good the meat was. They did say the XXX sauce wasn’t spicy at all.

The sides – the mac&cheese was cooked really well, you could tell it was baked, but it lacked seasoning and could’ve been a bit more cheesy. The candied yams were good. The potato salad had so much color (as seen in the pic) it looked like it was gonna be punchy as far as flavor goes however, it was bland. The cornbread was dry and tasted like it had been sitting out for a couple of days & it was too sweet for my taste.

All in all, I think folks should definitely stop by and try the ribs and/or the big bad wolf sandwich!!!

MKT price March 24th 2024 was $31.99 for pork & $38.99 for beef ribs. The sandwich was $11.99 and the sides were $6.99ea for family size which was big, in my opinion.

Atmosphere: You can’t say much about the atmosphere because it’s a small place. Basically, in and out place.
Service: Service was descent. The lady in front was polite and helped us with the menu. She manages well between in-house crowd and online orders that come via phone.
Food: Food is the most important part of a place that is selling food. We bought 2 pulled pork sandwiches and half bbq chicken. I was excited as I saw they had few pictures of newspaper cutout and magazines about them winning. The pulled pork sandwich was soaked in sauce to a point where the bottom half of bun was mushed to point where you couldn’t even lift sandwiches out of containers. While pulled pork itself had no taste aside from a ton of sauce they had poured on it.
Now, the bbq chicken, the true meaning of bbq, is roasting or smoking the meat over wood or charcoal for long hours. Not on gas grill inside. As usual, chicken was soaked in sauce, and meat was tough and bland.
I should have understood to leave the place because, as a bbq enthusiast, I asked lady what style of bbq you do here, and she told me Kansas City sauce.
This place is insult to Kansas city style bbq.
In short, save your money. This place is good if you have never eaten any authentic style bbq. But if you have eaten Texas, NC style, or even Kansas city style. You will hate yourself because your dinner or lunch will be ruined with this food.

I have had food for this establishment before but never tried the ribs. I had an curving for some good ribs and a friend suggested this place. I decided to order a rack of pork ribs and wasn’t disappointed. I enjoyed the favor and the sauce.
I also decided to try the pulled pork which was very close to a Carolina style. I’ll admit I was a little disappointed with the biscuit. It was a good portion but the meat was a little on the dry side. I’ll remember to ask for a Moist cut next time. This is a good place to try if you looking for BBQ.

My husband and I used to come here several years ago. I’m not sure why we stopped but decided to try it again for dinner. Overall, I was sort of disappointed. Part of the $30 rack of ribs was burnt, and the cornbread was so dry. I’m more disappointed in my husband for paying $3 more for another order of their desert dry cornbread. Even store bought cornbread isn’t as bad unless you get them after they’ve expired. The Macaroni and cheese was well seasoned but there was barely any cheese. The brisket was just okay. I think the rely on the sauce to make their food taste good. The meat should taste good without the sauce. I’m not sure if we’ll be back especially at these prices.

This is the worst food I have ever had in my life. The beans are just in ketchup, the sweet potatoes are absolutely canned and just swimming in sugar water, the brisket is bone dry and you have to gnaw at it. The coleslaw is just vinegar and mayo with no sweetening. Horrific. And $30 for two sandwiches and 3 little sides.

Ribs were very good and tender. Fall off the bone. Mac and cheese and collards were amazing. Cornbread was sweet but really dry.

I really wanted to like this place as I have not had BBQ since I moved here and I love BBQ. The food was cold, like right out of the refrigerator cold. I ordered beef short ribs and cornbread. The cornbread was hard and cold. The short ribs had zero flavor, were tough as nails and room temperature to cold. It is pretty apparent this food is not made day of and way overpriced. Not even the decency to properly reheat. Couldn’t even finish the meal. Waste of money. Anyway, the search continues for good BBQ in Baltimore.

We had Big Bad Wolf cater a retirement party for 55 people. They were prompt, set up quickly, and made sure everything was in place. The food was fresh and delicious. highly recommend.
