It was SO good! I had the Katsu curry and was pleasantly surprised with the little salad and miso.

The atmosphere was adorable and I would definitely go back.

This place is just not good. I rarely leave 1-star reviews, but both the service, pricing, and food left a bad taste in my mouth. This restaurant is an order-via-QR code place, would normally be fine, but really just added to the lack of service we received here. The sole waitress did not check on us or provide water (which apparently you have to pay for!) once, except to drop off the food. I’m fine with mediocre to bad service if the food is good, but it was not. The katsu had a soft exterior, not a crispy one, and even the rice tasted lackluster compared to other establishments like Donburi Station. To top it all off, the food was quite expensive for what it was, even for Seattle. Overall, I’m not a big fan of this place and would recommend students to visit other restaurants on the Ave. Makes me miss the old restaurant that used to be here even more.

Great food and staff! The staff are very nice and kind. Although there’s a small language barrier they always have a smile on their face and I feel welcomed. Remember to ask for water if you would like and hope you enjoy the dishes as much as I did.

This is a place where you pick a table, scan a QR code, order on your phone, then pay at the counter before you leave.

I got the curry pork katsu, I was happy with the food, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. My order came with a small soup and salad. I was not given any water, all the waiter did was come to my table twice to drop off food.

When I went to check out, there was a gratuity added to the total, and I’d went there solo, I was handed a receipt to sign and add another tip to, I didn’t tip on top of the added gratuity. I’d heard someone else arguing about a tip while I was eating and I can see why. I was not offered a receipt.

While the food was fine, I wouldn’t go back. If this is the level of service you have, you should just become a counter service place.

I came into the restaurant and enjoyed the environment. Nice decor and quiet. We chose our seats and ordered through a QR code. This place is a self serve style restaurant.

The two critiques I have on this restaurant is the communication/ service and the food.

The food itself was good. We ordered the Katsu and sushi. Although, we weren’t served any water for the period we were there.
We finished our food and went up to pay. We weren’t checked on to see if anything was wrong. The only interactions were through our food being served and paying.

Now as we went to pay, gratuity was added on top of our meal. I see this as a bit of confusion as to the only service was through bringing the food to us. after I go into pay, I sit down and the owner comes up. They questioned why we didn’t tip and demanded a tip from us. They kept pushing for a tip until we did and left. Overall, I didn’t hate the experience, but I think demanding tip after the service that was given to us is not fair. I want my interaction in a restaurant to feel like we are coming into a welcoming environment. I would be glad to tip if more service was provided, although, that just did not happen. If you come here for the food, great. If you come here for an experience, I recommend not.

Came for lunch with my sister. We ordered through a QR online, no water was served unless we ordered it; we would’ve had to pay for water – a but unsettling. Food came out things were good, food was good. The udon and katsu was good. She went to pay for our food… the cashier pressure her to pay a minimum of 10% tip. The total was already around $50 for 2 orders (tax included). His reasoning was because they do the dishes and it was “america style” to tip, also insulted her by asking if our parents didn’t teach us to tip. Maybe his intention was not to insult her but it was rude to say so. Although the food was good, the service wasn’t great.

Water costs money, old head at the back is on his phone instead of bringing the ready food or taking payments. Curry kastu was bland despite looking forward to it; a shame indeed. Relatively pricey as well compared to the other options on the ave ($29 in the end). They’ll charge extra for using card instead of cash. The head lady is sweet but the entire resturant is being sabotaged by the old guy in charge of the visible portion of the establishment, you can really tell from the atmosphere and I feel bad for her.
