First time going here and planning on going back. Easy in and out of the parking lot, with plenty of parking. Its a sports bar but a nice divider keeps it tolerable to sit and enjoy your food. They have a really nice outside eating area too. Staff was really friendly. I got the fried pepperoni and they gave a bigger basket of them than any other place I’ve tried.

If you happen to be passing through Hillsboro, Big Ernie’s is a must-visit. This place is a true hidden gem for the community. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal in a relaxed setting. The top-notch service really stands out; the staff is remarkably friendly, greeting everyone with a smile and ensuring a great dining experience. Its location on High St is very convenient, easy to find, and has accessible parking nearby. The food is fresh, the portions are generous, and the flavors keep you coming back for more. You can tell they truly take pride in what they do.

First time there. Had breadsticks and a meat pizza. Breadsticks was bland with little to no seasoning on them. Pizza had alot of toppings and tasted pretty good. Server was very friendly and the food came out pretty quick. They wasn’t very busy when we arrived but it was filling up fairly quickly by the time we left. I would eat here again.

Great place to hang out with friends to have a good time, watch the games and grab some dinner in or to go. The menu is a little unassuming but is surprisingly good—such as the deep-fried pepperoni bites, an odd appetizer that you have to try for yourself. Other great picks include the garlic loaf or the fried banana pepper ring. The pizzas are gourmet style, with a deliciously thin, crispy crust. Overall a friendly place, with good food, with an easy, casual atmosphere. Sep & Dec 2021

This Big Ernie’s is a little off the beaten path, but was a nice little treasure to find. We ordered a large pepperoni with extra cheese. It had bold pizza flavor (in a good way). We enjoyed our pizza . The young lady that checked us out was upbeat and friendly. Looking forward to trying something different next time.

Time to add some photos and to let everyone know my husband and I have enjoyed consistent dishes for several years now. Consistency is what restaurants need to keep me coming back. There’s nothing worse than expecting one thing and getting another. Not here. The Italian Sub is my favorite and theirs has stayed the same over the years. The grilled chicken salad is perfect with some cheese bread sticks. Yum

We hadn’t been here in over a year. It took a min to see a waitress but they were busy as it was a Friday night. I ordered a mushroom steak hoagie with onion and my husband got a pizza and wings. Once our food came out I noticed there were no onions on my hoagie. I took a bite and couldnt taste any either. I asked the waitress for some on the side. She said that she saw some on the hoagie but they were chopped very fine. She went back to get me some. I kid you not, she brought out rehydrated mince onions! I thought they were garlic at first. After I smelled it I realized what was going on. There was no way she saw any on the hoagie. My husband didnt see any onions on his pizza either. Someone needs to tell them that rehydrated onions are not going to taste the same as real onions on pizza or a hoagie. It works on a white castle or McDonald’s burger but not a hoagie or pizza. I have a picture of it but for some reason I cant upload one on here? My husband did like his wings tho. Oh and the parking lot was super dark, we thought they were closed at 1st.

First time at Big Ernie’s and it did not disappoint. Deluxe pizza was amazing! Also tried the bone in wings which were excellent. Service was just as good as the food. Will be returning!

We got the deluxe pizza minus the onion and added the jalapeno. I would give them a 3 if it was just me who was dining but my wife really enjoyed the pizza so I bumped it up to a 4. The overwhelming flavor on this pizza was the sauce. It was pretty prominent and made it difficult to taste any of the other items on the pizza. The cheese seemed to lack flavor as well so I assume it was mozzarella. $15.99 for a large deluxe. I asked if I could substitute jalapenos for onions and the waitress said sure. I was charged for the jalapeno’s so I assume I was misunderstood. Total came to $18.72 for the pizza including tax. I have eaten here at lunchtime in the past and would recommend the Big Ernie’s pizza which is double pepperoni and double cheese and onion. Didn’t remember the onion as being a part of it. I’m not a big onion fan so I would ask to leave it off. My wife is not a big fan of double pepperoni which is why we went with the deluxe. Personally I thought the pizza was a little bland and the sauce was pretty overwhelming. Although my wife really enjoyed it.
