They actually were sold out last year because we wanted to go. But this year we were able to procure a reservation. So book it as soon as you can. High tea is about a 100.00 per person without tip. But it was very worth it. The atmosphere is very nice and you have a lovely view of the river walk downtown Chicago. Our waiter was Dominic, and he was very kind and attentive. Standout items from our Christmas tea. Definitely the lobster roll, the peaking duck spring rolls and the butter cookie scones with clotted cream. Pretty much everything we had was delectable. I had the cherry blossom tea, and it was crisp light and delicious. I would definitely do this again, if you are considering high tea for Christmas. This is a wonderful event for the sophisticated folks in your family.

Amazing tea time experience! Made reservations to celebrate my friend’s birthday and everything was amazing. The tea was delicious, the pastries were great, and a glass of champagne was perfection! Great upstairs view, great service, and beautiful elegant setting.

Not your typical high tea fare and atmosphere. You won’t find finger sandwiches here. They substituted a vegan/vegetarian option on some of the savories due to fish allergies for one of us.
Our server was very attentive and amazing. You don’t need reservations on a weekday afternoon but they do require a $50 deposit per person if you decide to make a reservation.
It is a bit pricey for high tea but it was worth it.

This is one of the only spot in the cities that offers afternoon tea during the week. I work a lot of weekends so it was a bummer to see most of the “high tea” services are on FSaSu only. But not here at Bridges! They do some weekdays too!
Now, I will say, it’s a bit of a unique atmosphere since it’s right there in the hotel lobby. It sometimes felt a little like we were having this fancy tea party right in the middle of a bustling thoroughfare, which was a little weird but also kind of amusing! It certainly didn’t detract from the overall experience, just added a quirky touch.
The tea itself was fantastic. We both picked different blends from their impressive selection, and they were perfectly brewed and absolutely delicious. But let’s talk about the food! The tiered stand that arrived at our table was a work of art. The savory sandwiches were so fresh and flavorful – I especially loved the variety of fillings. And those scones! Oh my goodness, they were warm, light, and served with generous dollops of clotted cream and jam. Pure perfection. The pastries and sweets were just as exquisite, each one a tiny, beautiful masterpiece.
The service throughout our visit was truly top-notch. Our server was so attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. It really made us feel well taken care of.
All in all, despite the slightly unusual lobby setting, it was a truly fantastic afternoon. Bridges at London House offers such an authentic and high-quality afternoon tea experience right here in Chicago. If you’re looking for a special treat, a relaxing few hours with friends, or just a little slice of charm, I wholeheartedly recommend it. We left feeling completely content and already dreaming about our next visit!

Nice place to lounge and people watch or look out the window. Spiked hot chocolate was not very hot chocolate like to me. More of just chocolate syrup in it. The sticky coffee pudding was delicious tho!

This is definitely a fun experience with great Company! My friend and I came here as a girls date/treat ourselves Experience, and we loved it!
The presentation of the food items are really fun, creative, and it was definitely a cute way to try different foods.
I would say maybe out of all the items we ate there was maybe 1-2 items that we liked less than the others, but I think that’s just based on OUR Taste a preference.
My friend had the cherry blossom tea, and I had more of a spiced tea (can not remember the name at the moment.)
We did get to take really cute pictures of ourselves there and one of the staff offered to take a picture of us together, which was the cutest.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get seated by the windows and we were closer to the reception area because when you walk to the area there is a mini lobby and concierge/check-in area right next to the open area of the restaurant which threw me and my friend off . So I did feel a little weird as people were sitting just behind us waiting which was distracting. Again, just things that were either out of their control at this point. I definitely felt like when I faced the direction of the windows at the restaurant It was cute and amazing but once I would turn left, I’d be looking at a busy lobby area of some kind.
Note: on Google maps it does says Bridges lobby Grill.
So if you can request to be seated by the window, definitely ask.
All in all me and my friend were really excited to finally go and have this fun experience at least once.

We had a wonderful experience at their afternoon tea, great and friendly service plus delicious tea and small bites. They say on their website that they don’t consider dietary restrictions but when I told them I was a vegetarian they brought me my own tiered tray with meatless substitutes for everything that usually comes with meat, and it was very good. We took my mom as a birthday present and she loved it, but come with an empty stomach since you may want to try everything on the tiered trays and you’d be surprised how full you can get.
They also have big windows where you can see some nice views of the city. The only thing that may be bothersome for some is the fact that the restaurant opens up to the lobby and people are constantly checking in and out at the front desk in the background, but it didn’t hinder our experience very much.
Overall a nice afternoon tea experience and I highly recommend!

Reserved afternoon tea here. The hotel staff were helpful at directing us up to the restaurant area. However, it was very confusing what to do once we were there. Eventually we just went up to the bar and told the woman that we were there for tea. There’s no hostess stand or anyone greeting you, so it’s very confusing. They sat us in these weird chairs at the window. Great view but the sets were awkward and uncomfortable. Felt like I was in a spaceship pod or something.
We got to order 1 tea each. I got the Georgia Peach Rooibos. It was fantastic. I’m not a fan of tea, but this one was the best I’ve ever had. Very flavorful. You get a whole pot and pour it yourself. Both of our glass pour spouts were chipped so the tea spilled on the table every time I poured it.
It took about 30 minutes to get the basket of scones and muffins. The food was delicious. It can with cream, lemon curd and strawberry rhubarb preserves. Delicious! Even the sugar cookie with flower petals was great! I thought eating flowers was kind of weird but it was good.
Then we didn’t get the main tower of food until an hour and 10 minutes after we sat down. Reservation was for noon. Got food around 1:15. We had a musical to see at 2 and we’re hoping to leave by 1:15 to make it. Didn’t think it would take so long to get food that is on a set menu. They serve the same food to everyone. Not sure why it takes so long. I know it’s not their fault that we were in a rush but there was a lot of down time between courses.
The food was amazing. Really a highlight of my vacation. I’m kind of a picky eater but the only item I wasn’t in love with was the smoked salmon sushi roll. It was just too salty for me.
The strawberry almond cake thing was the best. Also the violet macron was good. I had duck for the first time, and things like beets and goat cheese and fig were really good in just these small bites.
I really loved the food and our waiter was so nice and personable. These were just some drawbacks in the experience. The chipped teapot, long wait times between courses and the weird chairs they sit you in.

I found the tea service here to be just ok overall. It is definitely not an elevated experience in the way many of the other tea services in the city that are. I would recommend other tea services in the city over the tea here at Bridges if you are looking for something more luxurious and treating yourself. The tea service here is situated in the lobby where other random people will just be hanging out, so the atmosphere is not as enjoyable if that’s what you’re looking for. The tea was fine, but—perhaps to be a bit too much of a snob about it—the tea leaves just continue to steep the entire time, though this probably isn’t uncommon. The sweet and savory items that are included were hit or miss. Some of the items were definitely delicious, while some others just didn’t hit the spot. The scones and cookies were the highlight for me and all pretty great. Our server was very friendly which was appreciated.
