If you looking for some decent food close to authentic Indian in Anchorage, considering you are in Alaska, then this is your place. I tried malai kofta, paneer kulcha, kadai paneer, veg biryani, egg curry and all of them were good. My friends tried some non veg dishes and didn’t complain at all. Price is decent too if you are not planning spend much on food.

One of the best restaurant dining experiences I’ve had in a while! We started with vegetable samosas as an appetizer with chai teas. For entrees we had lamb tikka masala at medium spice and butter chicken at mild spice with garlic naan for dipping in the sauces. Finished with mango lassis. The flavor of everything was superb! The lamb was so tender that it ripped apart so easily with just a fork. Definitely left me going WOW! Will for sure be back!

My first time eating Indian food and it was phenomenal. The environment was lovely and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. The portions look small from a glance, but they really do fill you up. I tried the Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, Chicken Samosa and Pakora. The entrees and naan were delicious, everything I imagined, words cannot describe the flavors.

Taste of India is one of our favorite stops in Anchorage. The food is consistently excellent, the service is always top notch, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it an easy place to settle in and enjoy a meal. The garlic naan is out of this world, especially when paired with the tikka masala or butter chicken. Highly recommend if you’re craving flavorful, comforting Indian food.

The best curry house on the west coast for sure! The Chicken Saag was mixed just right with the balance of spices and a creamy texture. Garlic naan was very fresh and the Iced tea fragrant. Along with other dishes this was the perfectly balanced culinary delight i’ve tasted all long the west coast.
Staff super friendly and gave some great suggestions.
Will definitely be coming back!

***HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!***

My husband and I came here on a whim, having never eaten at an Indian restaurant before. It’s a quaint restaurant with a warm and welcoming feel upon entering. There are touches of India throughout the restaurant, from the art to the music videos playing on the television.

We told our waiter that it was our first time and he went to go get the manager, Jaed. The manager came out and was SO friendly and kind. He described all of the most popular dishes, drinks, and desserts, and what they were made of. He also gave us his recommendations, as we wanted to try an appetizer, main course, dessert, and their drinks (all non-alcoholic). When they delivered each course, a description and how to eat it was given, as well as a check-in to see how we liked it. Every single item we ordered was phenomenal!! The spices and the spice were there, the joy, the happy dance… everything!! We left very full and very happy with leftovers to spare.

Even after ordering everything we ordered, we paid less than $80. It was an amazing experience with amazing food. Needless to say, this is now one of our favorite restaurants, and we will definitely be coming back.

*BONUS* They cater and deliver!

Thank you SO MUCH for the amazing food and amazing service!!

I tried the mixed tandoori platter at Taste of India, and it was excellent! The meats were tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled with just the right amount of spices. The service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming.

This was the worst Indian food Ive ever had. Service was bad. Food took over an hour to come. Goat meat was overcooked. Biryani is not real biryani, it was just some curry mixed with rice and additional white rice added on top. The lamb madras came with only 4 pieces and it cost $25. Be careful if you ask for Indian spicy as it is just extreme. The naan bread was the only highlight.

We found this Indian joint in the middle of Anchorage. Tried the veg kofta, mutter paneer, Roti basket, Onion Kulcha and Garlic naan’s
were top class, mutter paneer was freshly made and great in taste. Kofta was average as the gravy looked like tomato based. Overall sumptuous meal and food was great. They have masala Chai but it was sugar included. I wish they make without Sugar as it can be added easily.
