I immediately contacted the store manager, Katina, to report the issue. While I was refunded for the order, I was disappointed by the lack of urgency and accountability in her response. She offered a half-hearted apology and asked that I return the sandwich—which I did—but upon doing so, she refused to open the bag or inspect the food herself.
As someone responsible for food safety and customer well-being, I expected a more serious response and swift corrective action. This lack of engagement raises significant health and safety concerns.
I strongly urge Panera Bread management and corporate leadership to investigate this incident promptly and take appropriate measures to ensure this does not happen again.
Speaking of price, this small portion of soup cost nearly $10. For that kind of money, you expect something with quality and flavor. Instead, it felt like I was paying for a name rather than a good meal. The bread bowl itself was okay, but nothing could save the disappointing soup inside it.
It’s sad to say, but this Panera location just isn’t what it used to be. Five years ago, you could count on fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and solid value. That’s clearly no longer the case. I won’t be returning anytime soon, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a warm, comforting meal. Extremely underwhelming and not worth the money.
Rico was awesome!! The absolute best! Not only did he continue taking orders for us he continued making them as well. He stayed after closing and was so patient and kind the entire time! He even offered us some pastries we got to take with us! It was truly a blessing for us! PANERA, PROMOTE THIS MAN!!
I’m not sure what’s happening in downtown Indianapolis, but this restaurant may be suffering from the lack of humans. Hopefully things improve.
