Horrible customer service (no greeting, death stare as I ordered and no thank you on the way out) and cake frosting was beyond bland …. I understand that German cakes have minimal sugar (which I appreciate), but there there was none!!! Felt as if I was eating soft wax. Yuck !!!!! Never again

Ordered for my daughter’s 15th bday and she didn’t even have a full slice.

Grew up in Germany. This was on my To do list before returning to MD! Great service! Enjoyed the courtesy sample of cheesecake. I also enjoyed the pretzel with speck(like a very thick cut of bacon, but prepared differently, rendering a different taste than bacon).

The bratwurst was good, but the brotchen(roll) was lacking for me. If they could get a contract with Lidl or Aldis, I think it would do wonders as their bakery has brought me home every time!

Thank you for the wonderful experience!

This was my first visit and I didn’t try much. I was hungry from doing laundry without having breakfast beforehand. I ordered a cheese danish and an apple pocket. They were both quite good. The coffee was just as good and it surprised me ! Everything looked good but considering this German bakery is full of sweets, I needed to show some restraint. I shall return…

I love supporting local businesses and this bakery is one of my favorites. I’ve been coming here for years and the quality of food has always been amazing. They have a large verity of breads, cookies and cakes. It’s a great place to go in the morning for some fresh bread or even just to stop by for a nice dessert. Additionally, they have seasonal cookies so it makes a really gift to bring the office or a family party. Overall it’s a wonderful bakery and I recommend it to everyone

I got a slice of lemon cake, cheese Danish and a piece of baklava. The baklava had a slight dusting of baking soda, im sure from the fridge and distorted the taste enough to enjoy it. The lemon cake was delicious, moist, flavorful the lemon was just right and the cream frosting was not too sweet very delicious. The cheese Danish is exactly that a savory Danish. The customer service was minimal, not forth coming with information on the products served.

Purchased 2 turnovers, 2 danishes, 2 mixed nut cookies, 2 eclairs, and 2 pieces of baklava. Taste of all items were good once warmed up, and the total price was only ~$20. However, all of the pastries were stale as if they were 2-3 days old.

Such a cute and intimate bakery. The employees (Astrid especially!!) are very friendly, patient, and helpful. They had cheesecake, baklava, strudel, macarons, cookies, and so many more different type of pastries. They also had pretzels, bratwursts, and different types of breads. I tried the strudel and it was good but if you’re looking for something very sweet, I would try something else, it isn’t sweet at all. The Black Forest Cake was FANTASTIC!

**4.5/5 ✨ Marina’s German Bakery El Paso: Strudel & Smiles Straight from Bavaria**

Tucked in a sunny Westside plaza, **Marina’s German Bakery** is a slice of the Black Forest in the Chihuahuan Desert . The moment you open the door, warm waves of butter, yeast, and cinnamon wrap around you like a hug from Oma . Owner Marina herself is often behind the counter—her thick accent and quick laugh make every order feel personal.

The **apple strudel** ($5.50) is legendary: paper-thin pastry, tart Granny Smith slices, raisins plumped in rum, and a snowfall of powdered sugar—flaky outside, juicy within . Pair it with a **Black Forest hot chocolate** ($4.75) so thick your spoon stands up ☕. Breakfast? The **pretzel sandwich** ($9) layers Black Forest ham, sharp Emmentaler, and tangy mustard on a salted knot still warm from the oven .

Don’t sleep on the **bienenschwanz** (bee sting cake)—custard-filled, almond-crusted heaven . Bread selection is serious: dense **vollkornbrot**, crusty **brötchen**, and sunflower seed loaves that toast like a dream. Only gripe? Pastries sell out by noon on weekends—set an alarm ⏰.

Coffee is strong and bottomless ($3 refill). Outdoor patio is dog-friendly . Prices are fair for handmade quality, and the imported German candy case is dangerous . Marina’s isn’t just a bakery—it’s a morning ritual. I’m already craving tomorrow’s strudel run.

Best tiramisu we’ve ever had. Just the best texture and flavor! Amazing how light it feels almost like eating air you can finish a whole sheet of this cake and not notice you are that much.
