Lu’s Main Street cafe is a cozy place to sit down and relax with a cup of coffee and variety of snacks. Perfect American country side cafe, it’s a short drive after the sand dunes national park. A must try is the onion rings. The staff were beautiful & considerate. Good was we we’d very hot & we could repeat few items from the menu.

Decent place to get a meal. Everything came out hot, including the chips with the salsa. my burger within a tortilla and refried beans was good. I think my favorite was a piece of pie that was heated up with some soft serve. Wish they allowed refills on my tea/lemonade but the one glass I did have was tasty.

Morning Stillness at Lu’s Main Street Café
Some places quietly hold a town together.
Lu’s Main Street Café is one of them.
Warm coffee, unhurried conversations, familiar faces moving at a human pace. This is where the nervous system naturally downshifts — not because it’s curated, but because it’s real.
Travel doesn’t always need landmarks.
Sometimes it needs a table by the window, a steady mug in your hands, and the feeling that nothing is rushing you.
Lu’s offers that kind of presence.
A pause between destinations.
A soft landing for locals and travelers alike.
This is slow travel in its most honest form — everyday ritual, community rhythm, and the quiet luxury of being known, even briefly.

From the moment you walk in you feel at home in this cozy cafe. You can tell this is a family owned and operated establishment that prides itself on great quality food, warm inviting atmosphere and excellent service.
We stopped for the sign that said “best green chile” and stayed for the Bloody Mary and biscuit and gravy too. Gabriel’s breakfast burrito (get all three meats and smother it) wasn’t just huge, it was packed full of flavor and the green chile was exactly what we’d been looking for!
We will definitely be adding this to our “must stop” list for our next trip back to Colorado!!!

Even though we just got drinks (coffee and teas) before heading into the mountains. The menu was packed with good eats! The atmosphere was bustling and the service was quick! I even loved the tunes that were playing throughout the restaurant!

Stopped by on our way to the dunes. The stuffed sopapilla was incredible, I cannot stress enough how good this thing was. Great service, abd friendly faces. Support this business.

So here’s the thing I’m up here in the middle of nowhere picking up a load of potatoes. This place exceeds expectations. You make a request it is done right the first time. Literally everyone will be polite and talk to you. Which is important to me. I won’t just spend anywhere. Food is decent priced. I got a coffee and a 10 in burrito out the door with a nice tip 20 bucks. You can’t beat that.

An absolute diamond in the rough, server was friendly and sweet! Probably the freshest and best homemade chips and salsa, as well as a phenomenal Bison Burger! Highly recommend stopping in Blanca for this gem!
