WARNING psycho employee READ REVIEW JAN 5th 2026 me and my 5yr old son visited Perdido Key Breakfast Club for a late breakfast. Ordered our food the food came to the table I had tater tots so I was going to use some ketchup. They have the old style ketchup bottles glass with a metal lid. So I grabbed the bottle and was going to give it a shake and little did I know the lid was not on and ketchup went everywhere. I wave my waitress down and made her aware that I had made a accident with the ketchup bottle and apologized. I cleaned what I could up off myself and our table it was on the floor the next table the bench and wall at this point there are only four guests in the building me and my son and couple sitting next to us. Almost finished my food and at this time it’s only me and my son and a female that was working there came out The Swinging Doors and proceeded to tell me that I had to clean up the mess before I left. I said I’m not cleaning this mess up. And asked her or what if I don’t? I told her she was being very rude and ask her if I can speak to a manager and she told me I could not speak to a manager. Went on to belittle me in front of my son saying you’re the type of person that comes in a restaurant thinking you can just make a mess and leave it for your waitress to clean up I told her no I’m not I had an accident with the ketchup bottle I did not do it intentionally. Finally spoke with the manager told her all the same. She agreed with me and told me that she was out of line and that she would call the owner could not get a hold of the owner took my number and told me that they would probably call me back if not refund my money. I told her I didn’t come for a handout I came to buy their food sit down and enjoy it but that was impossible with the lunatic they have employed for them thinking she can talk to customers however she wants. Clearly this owner allows this type of behavior from their employees. Because I have not received a email back or a phone call. So if you want to be held hostage because you had an accident with a ketchup bottle I would recommend not going to this establishment because it is absolutely absurd. I should have called law enforcement and told them that they were holding me hostage. Never in my 40 years on this Earth ever witnessed this type of behavior from an employee at a restaurant because someone made a mess on accident.

Don’t go if you’re hungry, they were out of a lot of key items that make up the entrees. I got the perdido breakfast wrap which was a fantastic alternate after my 1st 2 picks weren’t available. It was incredible! I gave them a few days (4) to prep and went back…they were still out of my first 2 picks (gravy for the poutine, lump crab for the omelette) so I opted for the wrap again but they were out of the pork belly for it this time. I went with the red shrimp benedict…and I picked a winner! The server takes my menu and walks away, but like a cruel joke, comes back a few moments later and says they are out of the corn maque choux. I decided on the steak tips benedict, which was obviously not my first, second, third, or even 4th choice. The steak was seasoned well but dry and overcooked, the spinach watery and tasteless but the poached eggs were cooked perfectly! In conclusion, the menu leads you to have high expectations but it is poorly executed. Kudos to the servers who have to deal with disappointed guests, which seems to be daily. Funny thing though, I’d go again because I want it to be good! And I want that damn poutine!

I’ve been making an effort to try local restaurants in Perdido Key and West Pensacola, and while there are some great spots, unfortunately, this isn’t one I can recommend. I chose this place based on its high ratings (around 4.5 stars), but my experience didn’t come close to matching that.

There was a bit of a wait, which I completely understand—it’s July at the beach, so a busy morning is expected. No problem there. Once we were seated, however, things started going downhill. Our server brought waters after some time, but there was no real engagement, and we weren’t checked on again after that.

I ordered a dish that’s typically a standard everywhere: eggs Benedict. What I received didn’t resemble what I would consider eggs Benedict. The English muffin was burnt, the poached eggs were overcooked, and the “ham” was two tiny pieces that looked like they belonged on a 50-cent piece, not the bread. The plate looked sparse for the price. The menu stated the dish came with grits, which I like, but I requested potatoes instead—and there was an upcharge for that. What arrived was six or seven small, burnt potato chunks, which made the extra charge feel even more disappointing.

My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy, and after three bites, he was done. I tried it as well, and the gravy tasted burnt. Honestly, I’d take Cracker Barrel’s biscuits and gravy over this any day—and that’s not a bad thing because Cracker Barrel does a good version, but this wasn’t even close.

The service was another letdown. Our food was brought by a runner, not our server, and our water glasses sat empty for most of the meal. When our server finally returned with the check, I politely mentioned that the food just wasn’t good and this seemed very out of the ordinary. Her response? “OK, I’ll let them know.” No apology. No offer to make it right. Nothing. When she came back with the receipt for me to sign, all she said was, “We hope next time is better.”

Here’s the thing: I don’t like leaving negative reviews for small businesses, and I always give places the chance to make things right. But there was zero effort here, and based on that, I won’t be returning—and I wouldn’t recommend it. I know my review is just one voice, but I rely on honest feedback before trying a place, so I’m sharing mine along with a photo of what I received.

Disappointing food, an extra charge for burnt potatoes, no apology, and poor service. If they had acknowledged the issue or offered to make it right, this review would’ve been different.

Overall:
Overpriced and underwhelming. Eggs Benedict didn’t resemble the classic dish, the potatoes (which came with an upcharge) were burnt, the biscuits and gravy were barely edible, and the service was inattentive with zero effort to make things right.

Food was okay, eggs were overcooked and the meat needed salt. The French toast didn’t have any flavor, it was bland and didn’t have any sweetness to it. But I really recommend the breakfast pork belly burrito it was amazing! The price is reasonable for the size portion and my tater tot’s were perfectly cooked. Atmosphere was okay but they only had 1 bathroom so we had to wait. Service was good and we got seated pretty quickly.

While on paper the Perdido Key Breakfast Club comes across as an elevated dining establishment, to experience it in person leaves much to be desired. Arriving later in the business day for them, we anticipated the early morning crowd to have moved on. Still we found ourselves waiting several beats before being approached a bit chaotically by our waitress. Upon seating it seemed as though our table had been half-heartedly wiped down. This was not our first time visiting the breakfast club, however, it had been a few months and unfortunately the same cons are still present. When visiting, don’t go starving because the wait time will ultimately get you there, even if you arrive peckish. And, even if you do you receive your food fairly quickly you may be presented with only your food and no utensils to eat with. After waiting 5-10 minutes for said utensils, your food will be warm-ish. Even when utensils are present on first go around, somehow, the food is always lukewarm. Understandably, when visiting a restaurant in a tourist area, I realize not everything can be perfect but there is much to be desired in flavor to service.

Sorry about the pictures of half eaten breakfast plates, but they look so good. I couldn’t get my camera out fast enough. Eggs Benedict with bacon and home fries in the mushroom omelette with truffle fries both extremely good as well as the coffee and the service. Definitely recommend.

By far the best meal we’ve had on our trip! Everyone had something different and we all loved it. The Paul Bunyan with Conecah was amazing. Do yourself a favor and truffle to everything you can. You won’t be disappointed. My family had omelets, eggs Benedict, and the Perdido Burrito, and it was all top notch. The atmosphere was laid back, and the service was friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

I expected a wait to get in. We came on a Sunday morning around 11:30 in July, but we were seated immediately.
I ordered the Nashville hot chicken eggs Benedict. The server didn’t hear me say the Nashville hot chicken part so they brought out the regular eggs Benedict. I told the food runner and they took it back to correct it. They seemingly cook everything fresh to order so it did take at least 10 minutes for my correct order to come out.
I was so excited to try it but let me tell you…..if you can’t handle spicy, then don’t order this!
I really tried to enjoy it. The seasoning was there. It had hints of sweetness mixed with savory but the spice hit me like a mack truck. After 3 bites, tears were flowing…from my eyes and nose ! I thought the biscuit base with the eggs and sauce would help with the heat…I was wrong. It was so hot! Idk if they were heavy handed that day with the spice, accidentally dropped devil juice in or if this is their normal hey how ya doing let me boil your insides spice but man. Flavor was there but too hot for me, lol.
Luckily someone at our table ordered a “normal” breakfast and could only eat half so I finished theirs since I was still hungry and couldn’t eat mine. I didn’t complain to the staff though. I ordered something that I wasn’t sure if I’d like so that was on me. The service and atmosphere was nice with a man playing music. Overall it was a good sinus clearing experience and I’ll return if I’m in the area.

I really wanted to give them a higher rating because it was Memorial Day and they mentioned 3 people called out that day but it was really hard to give them anything higher.
• we waited a total of 1 hour and 20min for our food to come out to us
• the waitress was a bit rude, we asked for a few drinks that we did not receive
• we did not receive any silverware or napkins, we got up and grabbed them out of the hostess stand
• our waitress would yell out to us “how are we doing” and immediately walk away without giving us a chance to say how we are doing lol
• we were sat right by the kitchen doors and encountered a roach that crawled out of the kitchen and we killed it by stepping on it (see picture)
• many of the staff kept looking down at the dead roach as they exited the kitchen but did not want to pick it up, we had to get up and ask someone to pick it up (they apologized and picked it up)
• food was basic, I specifically got the pork belly poutine omelette and majority of the filling was potatoes and cheese with ONE slice of pork belly
