My son and I decided to try Gene’s Tasty Burger for lunch. We both enjoyed our burgers. I had the small cheeseburger combo with fries. My son had the double cheeseburger combo with onion rings. The burgers were very good. The meat is thicker and very tasty. The onion rings were probably the best I have ever had. The fries were very good too. My son also ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. We both enjoyed the grilled cheese too. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend you try Gene’s if you have not been here.

We just happened upon this place, and we’re glad we did! The burgers were absolutely amazing! The French fries were really good and the onion rings were incredible! (However, I’m not sure if I’d order them again. 5 onion rings for $5 lol) The burger had a lot of flavor, fresh veggies and was dripping like crazy! We will visit again for sure when we are in the area and tell others to make the trip by!

Gene’s Tasty Burger, in Wichita Falls, TX, is a hidden gem. Located in an older neighborhood, the building is antiquated , yet well maintained and clean. The interior is classic Coke red, black, and white diner style decor. The tables are an aqua blue and neatly arranged and exceptionally clean.
The friendly staff greeted us with a smile when we entered.
Our food was made exactly as ordered — hot and fresh. I had a small classic cheese burger and onion rings. The burger was juicy and tender, loaded with veggies. I selected onion rings as the side. Wowsers, those were some were delicious, large onion rings — battered perfectly, with a crispy, crunchy exterior, and tender onion interior. The onion rings were a generous helping, too!
Side note: I noticed a cork board, next to the entrance and kia sign that read “If you’re hungry and don’t have any money, these meals have been paid for.” There were several receipts push pinned to the cork board. Now that’s community spirit! Superb!
They serve breakfast, too. We’re gonna have to come back again soon.

Fantastic Burger, Amazing Onion Rings and the Tots with Chili and Cheese were fantastic . Really good milkshakes as well. The burger was a standout, juicy and perfectly cooked and wow the flavor was incredible. Best burger I have had in a long time! The chili is amazing on tots, chili cheese dogs etc…
This place was worth the 2 hour drive to Whichita Falls from the DFW metroplex. You don’t find classic burger joints like this anymore. Certainly worth the stop!!!

Gene’s Tasty Burger is the definition of a “Hole in the Wall Treasure”. I consider myself a burger connoisseur and this place just might take the gold medal. In my humble opinion, it is without the a doubt the BEST burger I’ve had in Wichita Falls and definitely in the Top 5 Best Burgers in Texas.
We ended up visiting with the owner before we left and he informed us this location has been here since the 1960’s but it was originally established uo the street a ways back in the 1950’s.
There isn’t anything fancy or out of the ordinary when dining here, and maybe that’s what works so well. Maybe it reminds me of a simpler time when going in here. Just sitting in a booth, visiting with the person across form you, and enjoying an out of this world, juicy cheeseburger and hand battered onion rings. There is a large selection of “main foods” as well as sides and desserts. My stomach was already out of room by the time I got to desserts, but the dessert of the day was peach cobbler and I was sad I had no room left. There is also a handful of flavors if you are craving a good, old fashioned milkshake.
The owner said the customer base was mainly folks in their 60’s, however, I can’t stress enough how many people should try this place despite their age. The location to some people may seem “sketchy” to some, but don’t let that be a factor and keep you from eating here. We felt perfectly comfortable while dining here and enjoyed every minute of it.
So… Bottom line… If you want a burger that will make you full from a meal and an enjoyable, affordable lunch/dinner, then I HIGHLY recommend Gene’s Tasty Burger. You will not be disappointed!!

Definitely a gem and place to get american/mexican eats. Server is nice and food comes out quickly. This drive-in had all the character to match its food with putting down some tasty staples. 10% for military too!

Local diner style burger spot in the middle of a Wichita Falls neighborhood. The place is small but had a good amount of seating and parking. Very clean inside with friendly service. I had the small double cheeseburger with fries. The burger was just ok and a bit bland. The fries were a bit soggy and unseasoned.

Interesting place in the hood. The burger was great. Everything else was not so great lol. Fritos in the Frito pie were stale and chewy. AC was out or wasn’t turned on when I was there. The city water is awful, this isn’t their fault, but it’s still awful lol.
