Fiaschetteria Pistoia – Review – East Village – New York

Fiaschetteria Pistoia is an East Village restaurant from some Italians who have another restaurant in Tuscany. It’s all about the handmade pasta.

If you’re looking for an interesting culinary experience, this is definitely a restaurant worth checking out, though there are a few areas that could elevate it even further.

We started with a first course that was full of flavor – zucchini and a rich cream that really enhanced the experience. For the mains, we had gnocchi with ragu and fettuccine with truffles – both dishes were fresh and incredibly tasty. For dessert, we had a perfect tiramisu, which looked and tasted just as it should, but another dessert with zabaglione cream was a bit underwhelming and felt overpriced for what it offered.

Unfortunately, the bathrooms were not clean when we arrived, which definitely affected the overall experience. Additionally, the sight of the kitchen being open and quite messy wasn’t the most professional look. While it was impressive, it did take away from the overall atmosphere.

On the positive side, the service was good – the waiters were friendly and efficient, and the kitchen was working at a fast pace. It’s important to note that during peak hours, you’ll have to wait in line for at least 40 minutes, so if you’re not a fan of waiting, it’s best to avoid rush hours.

In conclusion, I would definitely return, but during less busy times, and I would recommend sitting inside, as the atmosphere is much more pleasant and inviting there.

Costly and tasty. The food was so tasty, served fast, and HOT, that I forgot to take pictures. Overall really good. Fantastic flavors. Handmade in the onsite kitchen. Tables are tight… heads up.

Great pasta but ok service, packed space and crazy prices for tiny portions!

I would say this place is on the verge of being a tourist trap monetizing reputation with visitors. Everyone around me was visiting from Ohio, Florida, Texas etc. The service is rushed and cordial at best and portions tiny for the prices. The pasta was good but the portion was tiny for the price so overall i probably wouldn’t recommend this place.

I had such a great experience at this Italian restaurant. The pasta was absolutely amazing – perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and honestly one of the best I’ve had in a while. You can really tell they care about the quality of the food.

Our waiter, Christian, was excellent. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out perfectly. He gave great recommendations and really elevated the whole experience.

Definitely coming back.

This restaurant immediately became one of my favorites in new york. The egg and prosciutto, and the bruschetta appetizers blew me away and the main pasta dishes did not disappoint. The staff were super kind and attentive and i will definitely be coming back.

We’ve been here at least 4 times, and the food is always superb! Great Italian spot. It is a small and cozy spot so try to make a reservation if you can. They take walk ins if you’re willing to wait. Also easier to take walk ins when it’s early. Highly worth the wait.

We had a busy (and full of food) day out and decided to hit up Fiaschetteria – and it was such a good decision! The staff are lovely, the restaurant itself is really cute and the pasta was delicious – portion size not too big, but enough, tasted fantastic… and because they make all the pasta fresh, after we ordered it came in a few minutes. Couldn’t recommend enough – only down side is when full it’s the teensy-est bit cramped on some of the tables, but you let that go as it’s part of the charm.

I will start with the positive: the food was delicious, the fresh spaghetti we had was some of the best pasta I have had in NYC. That being said, the portions were extremely small.
Now, the negatives: the tables are extremely extremely small! It is a shame that they use tiny tables so they can squeeze more people in. We could only have 2 dishes on the table at one time and either wine or water. We had to put other dishes and glasses on the windowsill. It felt very uncomfortable. Also the table was right by the wall so I couldn’t use my arm comfortably. I had to eat without bending my arm. The service was nice, but very rushing: right as we sat down, they came to ask us what to drink (not giving us some time to look at the menu). When we said we need some time, they came back after a minute. They also did the same thing when ordering food, and dessert. They also gave us the check before we asked for it. Just right after we said no dessert, they handed us the check.
The food was yummy, but sadly, the entire experience was uncomfortable and annoying. For the price, this was not worth it.
