Gardenia’s Cafe is unexpectedly delicious. I say unexpectedly because it is a quite cozy establishment, with just a few tables, located in a strip mall.
One must order at the counter (though extremely friendly staff will bring your food once it’s ready).
Priority is given to freshness and quality – the juices are fresh squeezed, pastries, tortillas and breads are fresh baked. This is evident in every wonderful bite.
These dishes are created with care and everything we tasted reflected that.
The Huevos Rancheros are the best I’ve had outside of Mexico. The breakfast burritos were beautifully balanced with the tortilla crisp on the outside – wonderful!
We look forward to returning and trying their lunch and dinner options as well.
The only thing I would change is for a little more space inside, and more tables.
We arrived at 9AM, right when it opened and we weren’t first in line (though we were able to get a table).
The place was packed the entire time we were there, and I get the feeling it stays packed (and I completely understand why!).

I would come back for the delicious iced mocha alone, but the fresh green juice and bread pudding muffin take it over the top.
It was great they offer typical American breakfast options as well as multicultural ones as well. The huevos rancheros were perfection and the salvaderone typico was very good as well (I do wish there was a greenery on the plate like avocado or cilantro).
You get a menu and order at the front register then sit wherever you like and they will bring you your order. We got to interact every member of the family that runs the place and they were all so friendly and attentive. 10/10 recommendation

It was really good, they didn’t have grilled cheese in menu but they custom made it for my kid. I tried huevos rancheros – it was a big meal, very delicious, I liked that fresh salsa taste with eggs. My husband really liked egg+cheese sandwich. We waited only about 10-15min for the order which is super fast comparing most breakfast places I know. For a breakfast of two adults and a kid we spent about $45.
It was our first time there, so they gave us a free muffin.

We tried this small and cozy café after a friend had recommended it. We were immediately greeted with warmth and welcoming smiles. They explained the menu to us and all the many in house food options they make. This place has the freshest food and many healthy options.
The staff was friendly and very attentive. Equally as important, the food was scrumptious! We plan to go back again and make it our go to for brunch dates.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Gardenia’s Café in Gaithersburg! I ordered the mushroom and onion omelette with white cheddar, perfectly paired with crispy potato hash browns and warm sourdough toast. Every bite was delicious and made with such fresh ingredients. My daughter had the breakfast sandwich with bacon and mozzarella on sourdough, and it was equally exquisite — hearty, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The coffee was top notch too!!
The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service was warm and attentive without being rushed. Gardenia’s Café truly knows how to elevate classic breakfast favorites. This will definitely be a regular spot for us!

My friend and I came here for a coffee, which was amazing (for a change). The very nice lady behind the counter told us about their home made food and got us interested in their sourdough pizza. It turned out to be delicious! We learned that the lady actually bakes herself and her mom helps her as a host and a server. They really made us feel at home in a family atmosphere. They even gave us a delicious chocolate cupcake to try. Overall, this was a rare experience and one of the best lunches I’ve had in a while. I highly recommend Gardenia’s Cafe.

Found the place online and decided to walk in. Maritza, the owner, personally greeted me — such a wonderful, super-friendly lady! She offered great suggestions and told me about their specials. The food was absolutely delicious and 100% organic.
To top it all off, she even treated me to complimentary desserts. And the sweetest touch — there’s a fresh rose in the restroom! Truly an amazing personal touch that makes this place stand out. Highly recommended

I can’t believe I just found this lovely lovely place! It is cheerfully decorated, the staff are so warm and helpful and welcoming, and the food is fantastic! You can tell the owner is very very proud of her place and she has a reason to be. We had the Tex mix quesadilla, the corned beef hash, and the enchilada burger. I would recommend all three but I wanna go back many times to try all the other things on the menu they also make their own sourdough bread. And have a beautiful collection of pastries To offer as well. Such a gem tucked into a little strip mall in Gaithersburg!

The Ortega family greets all new customers with a smile and remembers their frequent ones. Pick up some cinnamon rolls or biscuits for your co-workers and they’ll be so happy!
