BEWARE THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE.
The food was made to order, quite quickly.
I’ve had the wing appetizer which for me, has dethroned an “award winning” spot in NJ, mainly due to value and prep: price was very reasonable, the prep was the winner – crunchy, saucy and full size wings.
I’ve also had steak bruschetta flat bread, it was fresh, home made for the most part, seasoned well overall a solid dish, that did the job well.
The service is very good – invisible which is exactly how professionals do it, Chelsea, very well done.
The setup is a bit meh, dark, with some tacky light strings and lots of yellow LED.
Given this is a 175 year old building, I would probably made it lighter, brighter walls, brighter tables.
I would definitely recommend this place, and will come back myself.
My scores are:
Food: 4.2/5
Service: 5/5
Price: 4.5/5
Atmosphere: 3.2/5
The beer was cold and refreshing! Soda was served in a mason jar! How fun!!!
The Decore hasn’t changed since the day they opened and it’s possible the bathroom hasn’t been detailed since then either.
I don’t remember there not being music playing during the dinner hour but there definitely wasn’t any on this Friday “happy hour!”
No happy hour specials either. Bummer!
Food price’s definitely went up and I didn’t see Wing night on the feature board anymore. That was always my favorite.
Ticket time seemed long, but Good food isn’t fast and fast food isn’t good!
The burger was rated 4 star. It was good but under cooked. Haddock was given 5 star and completely eaten despite the large portion. The salad special was amazing and you can tell all of the ingredients were the freshest. The server even recommended the perfect dressing! In all the food was exactly what brought us here and we weren’t disappointed!
While listening to the staff talk about the evening they seemed under staffed for a Friday night! While we were leaving it was starting to get busier! One of the original owners was there and she doesn’t look a day over what she looked like when she opened the place!!!
I was forced to put my meal on my CC which I was not happy about because I like to remain anonymous. Unfortunately the wait staff doesn’t keep a bank sufficient to break a large bill and I don’t know if she asked the bar to break it. At least they do still accept Cash.
All in all the experience was good and everyone was satisfied with the meal that was provided and the facilities.
Close enough to the University for a great family meal or a decent job, far enough away that it’s not a frat house bar!
PS. The new patio looks amazingly and inviting!!! Perhaps my next Sister’s weekend we’ll spend more time there!!!
Still would return and ask to have time between courses.
