Overall above average experience. We were promptly seated, but the service was on the slow side. It took a while for the drink menu and our server to check in on us, but overall no big deal.

The inside had a rustic feel to it. It was clean and spacious.

The food was also above average. It was maybe on the pricier end for the overall quality, but not exponentially overpriced.

Our dining experience at the restaurant was truly incredible, marked by exceptional service that made us feel welcomed and valued. The lobster was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp was equally delightful, complemented beautifully by the creamy mashed potatoes that boasted rich flavors. Each dish burst with freshness and taste, showcasing the chef’s expertise. We opted for the crème brûlée to finish off our meal, but while it was enjoyable, I wouldn’t order it again. The atmosphere was nice, perfect for a cozy date night, though I did notice that some of the glasses, plates, and silverware appeared a bit dingy, leading me to double-check their cleanliness. Thankfully, they were all spotless, but it was a minor distraction. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for a lovely evening out!

The truffle macaroni and cheese was out of this world.

This was my first time here and my last. Ordered shrimp cocktail and got 4 shrimp for 16.00. 4!!!! Then my steak came out wrong (under cooked) sent it back and still came back wrong. The baked potato was warm not hot, wouldnt even melt the butter. Had chunks of bacon on it not bits and they were under cooked themselves. At this point I just said I’ll eat it. Husband ordered his steak no flavor except what was in the steak butter…with the Mac and cheese, that was dry as can be. Cheesecake was the onky thing that taste worth a dam. Server was great. Restaurant sucked. When you drop over 300.00 for 2 people it should be Outstanding and something you want to do again. Will never recommend…. but will totally disguredge anybody that ask where to eat downtown.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience at Cheeves Bros. Steakhouse was bad enough that people deserve a warning.

I made a reservation in advance for my wife’s birthday and requested roses to make the night special. Instead, from start to finish, the entire experience was a nightmare.

We began with calamari that had to be remade and still tasted burnt and over-fried. Our server then recommended the shrimp appetizer, which arrived in under two minutes—never a good sign. The shrimp were chewy, undercooked, and already separating from the shells. Easily the worst shrimp I’ve ever been served.

Then came the main event: two filet mignons. What arrived was nearly $200 worth of dried-out, overcooked steak that was completely inedible. They were boxed up and thrown away because no one at the table could stomach them.

This is supposed to be a high-end steakhouse. In a world where places like Texas Roadhouse, LongHorn, and Three Forks consistently deliver quality, this was shocking. Charging premium prices for food of this quality feels like scamming customers.

To make matters worse, I spent over $400 on this meal with a server who was barely present. I didn’t cause a scene because it was my wife’s birthday—but your restaurant still managed to ruin a moment that mattered to us.

This experience warrants a full refund and serious attention from management. I truly hope ownership sees this and understands how badly this missed the mark.

1st time visiting. Beautiful place and atmosphere. Friendly staff and very clean. Reminded me of another restaurant in Austin RC, but Cheeves was better. I would have liked more flavor in my dish, but it was still good, and the portions were nice. The steak great but the mushrooms needed a lil help but again over all good. The rose for ladies was a nice touch. Would make a request when ordering next time I visit.

This is a really nice white tablecloth steakhouse. The ambiance is top notch. A really warm glow about it. The service is top tier also. Maddie is superb. Now the food. I always get a shrimp cocktail at the fancy steakhouse. I always assume that it’s a fresh shrimp cocktail never have been frozen. This one had been frozen. You can tell by the shiny wet look it has. I was so disappointed. Started things off bad. Plus the shrimp had been marinated in something that was so incredibly spicy. Like burned my tongue. But I had ordered a pomegranate margarita so it cooled my mouth. Although it did taste a little like cough medicine. Then we got the salads. My Waldorf salad was really really good. My dining partners Cesar’s salad was really good too. Then the 10 oz filet I got was maybe the best steak I ever had. Cooked perfectly to my desire. It was seasoned perfectly and just amazing. Then I got some free cheesecake for my birthday. It was amazing too. The manager Joe is a really nice man. He made sure we were sitting in our preferred table. So very accommodating. I WILL BE BACK!!!!!

The restaurant has a very elegant atmosphere, however the service is not necessarily on the same level. You wouldn’t see the smile and caring service you would expect. The food is ok. Pretty average. The steak is better than a chain restaurant but not really 100+ level. We visit here from waco. Wouldn’t say it is better than several elegant options in waco.

6 oz Steak with mushrooms and wine sauce. Perfection.

* Enjoyed a night out on a double/ late birthday dinner. Great Atmosphere and Attentive service, food was late coming but with wine, cocktails’ and beautiful company we just enjoyed our conversations with mouthwatering appetizers. Dinner was delicious. I recommend the shrimp bisque soup which left a tantalizing memory. Grateful for your continuous Name and Brand. ✨ Cheeves

The food here is amazing! Came here for our wedding anniversary and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The server was nice and seemed well versed in the menu as we as the wine list. Had the scallops to start, I highly recommend. They were one of the best dishes I’ve had in years. Husband ordered the bone in porterhouse steak and I order the halibut. They both were cooked to perfection! Can not say enough about the food here. Great idea for a date night or celebration.
