I’ve had an outstanding avocado toast with extra bacon and soft boiled eggs. The lemon peels and drizzle of chili oil gave it a unique and refreshing twist that made it stand out from any other I’ve tried.
The cappuccino with almond milk was a bit stronger than I’m used to, but the rich dark chocolate and nutty notes balanced it perfectly. A wonderful spot for a cozy breakfast or coffee break!

I’ve been wanting to try the spot but it seems all the other locations have really bad parking. Luckily I pulled up on this one by accident and glad I did! I came in on a Sunday about 9a expecting it to be packed, but I must’ve got there at the right time because there was no line I was able to get in and out! I tried the cinnamon roll croissant and it was very good, not too sweet! Next time I will try the crème brûlée pastry!

Wow! What a luxurious and delicious breakfast. We loved the Turkish eggs and egg croissant sandwich. The cappuccinos were perfect. Great outdoor seating and friendly service.

Disappointing! The wait time for a simple chai latte was 25 minutes; also, they only offer one size for a hot beverage, and my cup was only half full, leaving me wondering where the remainder of the drink I paid for was. Overpriced, poor service, and you don’t get what you paid for. Also, while waiting 25 minutes for my drink, I noticed a giant fly buzzing through the glass inside the bakery room where they create all pastries. I would not recommend or return to this place.

Meh is the best way to describe this place. It’s nothing special but their cooks aren’t very good. I ordered medium eggs and got eggs that were barely classified as easy. The toast… oh man the toast. It’s pretty ok bread but they don’t toast it they toss it over an open gas flame and the bread tastes like the damn gas it’s gross. Bacon was a little undercooked for my liking but it was what most would call average not rubbery but definitely not crispy. The potato thing I forgot the name of the French layered potatoes off the top of my head was ok all 6 sides were not cooked evenly which left some soft that should’ve been a crunch. The booze was good but it’s wine hard to screw up but $15 for a glass when the bottle retails for $14 is pretty excessive markup. The whole menu is extremely overpriced but since I was using my Amex free $50 every 6 months offer it only cost me like $1.50. I do not recommend this place for a meal. Perhaps the baked goods are better maybe I’ll try them another time but the food was not up to my expectations based on the cost.

The waits are long at times but the pastries are very tasty. I’m a big fan of the croissant muffins but they seem inconsistent. Sometimes they’re the best things I’ve ever had, but then other times I can’t finish one. Based on the price, I would expect a little more consistency.

The food, bakery and service here is top notch, but I have to give it a 3 based on recent experience. Even on a weekday, it gets very busy and you have to wait for a table to be available to eat. Yesterday, I counted 4 tables (some that could seat 4 people) being taken up by people sitting there with open laptops and no food or drinks being consumed. There should be rules to prioritize the people who want to enjoy their breakfast & lunch.
And the turnover of tables get backed up because they need to be cleaned for the next customer. I also noticed that the floor is littered with food and napkins because the staff cannot keep up with the turnover.
I am happy for the restaurant owners for the great business they are generating. But I will now have second thoughts about going there, especially in the winter time when seating is limited.

Perenn has a lot of potential to be great, but after coming here regularly for the last few months has made me question that.
Let’s start with the good:
Atmosphere: Aesthetically pleasing on the inside, fairly spacious
Food: One of the very few places that has different options for breakfast that isn’t the basic American breakfast combo.
Service: Friendly staff
The bad:
Atmosphere: Gets very loud, especially when they get busy. Tip: google gives you their “busy times” so you know when to avoid the crowds.
Food: Incredibly inconsistent with quantity and warmth. I’ve had times where the food came out promptly and you didn’t feel like they “skimped” on the food you paid for. Other times, it felt like they were scraping the bottom of the bowl and without a care gave it to you stone cold. Perhaps due to different cooks working that day and/or gets overwhelming with the crowds. Regardless, a restaurant that is managed well can still be consistent.
Service: 99% of the time that I have come, the tables are not wiped even though they’ve been cleared off. Would be good if they had at least 2 people assigned to buss the tables, one being on the “floor” at all times during the busier times.
From my observations, lack of staff, organization, and proper operations contributes to poor quality and service. For how much you pay for, this place is mediocre in my mind. A matcha latte and Turkish eggs come to $30-ish in total before tip. If a business is charging that much, then I expect better. It’s sad that local businesses like this attract a large number of people for the “uniqueness” but in the end can’t seem to uphold a certain standard that they so promise in their mission.
However, due to the very limited options in Reno, I will continue to come here. Just less often and earlier in the day.
Our people: “our team members’ hard work truly makes a difference and helps us in our pursuit of unsurpassed quality”.
Attached are some photos, did not take pics with every visit.

Went to Perenn Bakery in Reno with my cousins for lunch. It was rush-hour and pretty busy, but it was absolutely worth the wait! The food was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was still welcoming despite the crowd. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to!

This is one of the best pastry bakeries in the world. Not just in town, or Nevada, or the US. I lived in Hanoi. Love some great French pastries as they are still available there. Been to Paris many, many times. Love a great puff pastry filled with chocolate. But I never had a Vanilla Creme Brulee puff pastry in France. Do it! You won’t regret it. Or maybe you will, later when your yoga instructor shames you for it….but not while you are eating it!
