Visited for the Valentine’s Day set menu. The restaurant itself looks amazing and the atmosphere is genuinely lovely, and the service was good throughout the evening.

The food that we had did taste good. The sushi starter in particular was nice and well presented. However, the portion sizes really let the experience down. The main course was very small and didn’t feel like a full course for a set menu.

The dessert was supposed to be a sharer but was extremely minimal, just a small slice of cake, a small piece of fudge, and one Little Moons mochi cut in half between two people. That felt quite poor for a Valentine’s offering.

We also ordered wonton extras and they weren’t actual wontons, just thin crispy strips more like crackers.

Overall, the quality and flavours were good and the venue is beautiful, but the portion sizes and value for money need improving.

Absolutely gutted to see the changes that have happened to this venue. I have seen in previous reviews about the change in ownership due to bankruptcy. Have been coming here for 6 years and kept this as an absolute local favourite spot. However no longer will we be returning.
I appreciate the cost of living and produce is through the roof however I feel it is no longer an acceptable amount to pay for what have become average dishes.
£15-18 for “Small Hot Plates” , £6 for some prawn crackers, The Menu has shrunk hugely from previous menu’s, less choice, more cost. Less cocktails on the menu. No longer provided with a rest for the chopsticks, the glassware has also changed to basic essential glasses. No fancy cups or stylish glassware. I appreciate this is minor but if you are willing to charge high end prices then you should provide the amenities to match. Food was nothing like before. Service was good.

Best meal we’ve had out in a while. Everything was great from the cocktails through to the puddings. We previously visited 6years ago and were pleased to see that it’s still as good if not better. Looking forward to coming back again

Sadly this place has gone downhill… a lot! The food is still good and the sushi was great. The menu has lost the key hi lights but the top tier service and atmosphere is no longer at the forefront which is so. Tonight, me and my partner felt robbed…It took so long for us to be asked for our drink order and be acknowledged once seated. We had to ask for side plates for our sushi platter, had to ask for soy sauce with our sushi and essential touches.. to pay, we had to walk up to the bar after waiting for an incredibly long time. Finally a waiter offered to help while juggling also talking to his drunk friends. Shocking and not the service that kept me coming back. After years of being a customer here, I know this will be my last visit.

Great service. Food was so so and could have been a bit hotter (chicken katsu). Restaurant was quite cold and the bathroom was freezing. Can’t remember any ambience – no music etc. We were nicely greeted on arrival. Waiter was very attentive. Didn’t think food was great value for money. The Samurai Warrior is super cool!

Visited with my wife for a rare evening out without the kids. We were greeted very nicely instantly at the door. Very nice, polite and happy staff. They didnt push or rush us as we couldnt decide what to eat. Food for both of us was lovely, we shared from the nibble and starter menue as we wasnt sure how big mains would be. Thankfully we did as mains was a good size that filled us up. Both mains was amazing, I had chicken katsu and my wife had noodles bowl. Very impressed with Drgnfly and both have said we want to go back. Well done team and chefs. Great night, thanks.

Well we had a group of six people, two of which are children for a birthday party. Very nice themed oriental restaurant but the prices are somewhat high for the quantity of food you get. You can get hot and cold plates which are small but priced quite high..the food quality is alright 7/10. Most probably will not be going again due to the elevated prices unfortunately.

An unexpectedly wonderful experience. Went in with our fingers crossed. Did not know what to expect in a town like Poole. But they did not disappoint. The food was at far with any good pan asian restaurant in larger cities. The cocktails were plain brilliant. The one we had were all alcohol forward, the way we like them with really bold different flavours. In the food department we loved the beef tataki which was absolutely great on the flavour and texture. Margaret our server made excellent recommendations and was very attentive. Highly recommend them if visiting any nearby location.

What stunning restaurant, so beautifully decorated and styled, it really causes you to stop and stare as you enter the doors!

My husband and I had booked the Valentine’s set meal and had arrived a little early, we were the first to enter but were greeted warmly and shown to our table.

We enjoyed sipping some Valentines Cocktails whilst we waited on our food…

Nibbles – EBI Senbei (prawn crackers) – huge crackers with a spicy mayonnaise type dip to go with them.

To Start – Aigamo Gyozas (crispy duck dumplings with hoisin) & Heart-Shaped California Roll (Dorset crab meat, avocado and cucumber topped with tobiko, spicy may and tempura crumb). – Both were very tasty, the gyozas really crisp on the outside and the hoisin had a deep, strong flavour which was great. The California roll was really good, however they did fall apart really easily so you ended up with a good chunk of it in your soy dipping dish.

To Follow – Tori Katsu Curry (chicken katsu with Japanese curry sauce) & Yakisoba (chicken, king prawns and vegetables stir-fried with ramen noodles). Now these 2 dishes were absolutely fantastic! The chicken katsu was SO crisp, we’ve not experienced such a crisp coating ever in chicken, whilst the chicken stayed succulent and the sauce was really flavoursome. The yakisoba had plenty of chicken and prawns and the vegetables were very fresh.

To Finish – Matcha Platter For 2 (Two mini matcha brûlée, matcha mochi and matcha chocolate truffles). The brûlée was really creamy, although cold, the truffles smooth and intense and the mochi were incredibly cold (the centre was still a little frozen) and was so-so. Some improvement was needed here.

After the Valentine’s cocktails we had a couple of pints of Drgnfly pilsner which was a very decent pilsner, with great taste and a smooth finish.

Throughout the meal all servers were friendly, attention and smiling throughout the meal. Our main server was Karly and she was truly wonderful, so full of joy, nothing was too much trouble and she was enthusiastic about making sure you had everything to enjoy a great evening.

Thank you Karly!

Some feedback – for such an amazingly styled restaurant full out authentic charm, the music was a rather odd choice, it was standard music you would hear in the car, rather than some traditional Asian instrumental work that we were expecting.
