Piccolo Buco Roma — set mere steps from Rome’s famed Trevi Fountain — is where Cooper’s Hawk Founder, Tim McEnery, first discovered Chef Luca Issa and his wonderful pizza. The ingredients were deceptively simple: creamy, indulgent mozzarella mingled with a bright and bold tomato sauce. But it was the extraordinary, tall crust — crisp on the outside yet cloud-like at the center — that won his heart. He couldn’t wait to introduce America to a pizza this special!

We enjoyed a wonderful Valentine’s Day lunch, and Anton provided exceptional service. The yellow tomato bisque was the best I’ve ever had. My daughter loved the margarita pizza — it tasted just like pizza in Italy. The carbonara was beautifully authentic with Parmesan, pancetta, black pepper, and egg yolks — absolutely delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Parmesan, and my mom loved both the antipasto salad and the truffle pasta with aged balsamic and pistachios. Everything was fantastic. We were very impressed and can’t wait to return

Sigh, we love Italian food and we love our date nights so we were saddened by the outcome of this restaurant. Ambiance is great and is similar to Cooper Hawk being the sister company here. Wine tasting, wine selection, good vibes, scenes, etc were all great.

That was pretty much the extent of it. We had reservations for 5pm on a Saturday and were quickly seated. We promptly placed our order as we were ready from looking at the menu online and unfortunately didn’t realize you don’t get any bread or samplers while you wait. And waiting we did. It took 58 mins for a kids pasta, one pizza, and a rigatoni pasta to arrive. All three were like warm at best, the pastas all dry from soaking up the sauce. Clearly they sat on the expediters table for too long. The food was delicious but waiting a ridiculous amount of time for it and then it arrived cool, was a huge disappointment. Our server was friendly and helpful but disappeared for 10-15 mins at times and left us waiting for the check for too long. Overall, we likely will not return based on this and others similar experiences.

Piccolo Buco is an Italian restaurant with a hint of American flair woven into its dishes. Overall, I found the food to be quite good—the flavors were certainly there, and some of the dishes were unique and enjoyable.

However, the major downside was the service. Despite the tasty food, the timing of the dishes was completely off. We received our pizza first, and then about 30 minutes later, the salmon arrived. Everything came out at different times, and it felt quite disorganized. I understand that the restaurant might be busy, but that’s no excuse for such a lack of coordination.

In the end, while the ambiance is pleasant enough and the food is flavorful, the service just isn’t up to par yet. If you’re going for the flavors alone, you’ll likely be satisfied. But if you’re looking for a smooth dining experience where dishes come out together and the service is well-coordinated, Piccolo Buco might not be the right spot just yet.

Overall, I’d give it a 3 out of 5 stars. Good food, but the service needs improvement.

We just had the BEST Galentine’s dinner at Piccolo Buco. The vibe was cozy, lively, and perfect for a fun get-together dinner.
Amanda, our waitress, was incredible! She’s super friendly and made us feel welcomed the entire time. Will, our food runner, was just as amazing! He kept everything coming out quickly and smoothly. He’s so funny and enjoyable, he made our whole table laugh. The service honestly made the experience feel extra special, definitely the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant if I’m being completely honest.
The food was amazing. The spicy pepperoni pizza had the perfect crispy crust with ricotta, and the eggplant parmesan was pure comfort food. They even surprised us with complimentary wine tastings and three scoops of gelato to finish, which was such a sweet touch to end our memorable night.
Great food, amazing staff, and thoughtful extras — we couldn’t have asked for a better Galentine’s celebration. Can’t wait to come back!!

Wonderful dining experience! I’ll definitely be back! Overall, fantastic food and great service. We had the meatballs appetizer, spaghetti carbonara, and seasonal crostata. The crostata was too sweet for my pallette, but the flavor and texture were great. Somewhat chilly inside, so I suggest bringing wearing long sleeves or bringing a cardigan.

We’ve been to Piccolo Bucco multiple times now, and it never disappoints. The food is outstanding! fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for when you’re craving great Italian and spending the money to go out.

Addi and Brittany are fantastic. They took the time to understand our preferences and made thoughtful recommendations that absolutely hit the mark. It’s rare to feel that genuinely taken care of.

Between the service and the quality of the food, this place has easily become one of our go-to spots. Already looking forward to the next visit.

Great dinner at this Cooper’s hawk affiliated restaurant. We were able to use our club bottles which was nice. The crispy stuffed squash blossoms were unique and tasty. The pizza was delicious and the crust was super fluffy and crusty at the same time! The truffle pasta was great and the seasonal dessert spectacular.

Service was excellent. Brenna checked on us often. A weird complaint but the chairs at the table were not very comfortable.

We will be back for another date night for sure.

I have gone to Coopers Hawk for years for lunch and dinners only because of our friends preferences and though the beautiful, sophisticated atmosphere and service was top notch we were always disappointed with food quality and taste regardless if lunch or dinner. I was so reluctant and so happily surprised that the food I tried here was fresh, tasty, beautifully plated, and surprisingly delicious. This beautifully decorated, warm, inviting new Restaurant is 100 percent more food focused then its sister affilate and still has the same high quality of wine and drinks. Our server Lisa Marie was fabulous, kind, friendly, and so helpful. All her food choices were right on! She’s special and really made our visit a happy one. I am really excited to come back with friends, family, and clients!

Piccolo Buco is elevated Italian comfort food in a modern, welcoming setting. Our server, Bella, was absolutely phenomenal. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better!

We started with the Crispy Stuffed Squash Blossoms and Mama Luca’s Meatballs, both flavorful and perfect for sharing. The Luca Issa Caesar added a fresh, crisp balance before the main dishes. The ’Nduja pizza, with its wood-fired crust and bold toppings, was a standout, and the Chicken Parm hit all the right notes, crispy, cheesy, and comforting.

Dessert was the Brown Butter Apple & Chestnut Crostata, a warm, buttery finish that tied the meal together perfectly. With great service, inviting vibes, and dishes full of flavor, Piccolo Buco is a welcome new addition to Tampa’s dining scene.

Claire was great, the food was absolutely incredible!! We started off with the wine tasting at the front which is always a great experience. The one of a kind pizzas were very tasty, not only the toppings, but the dough and crust as well. If you can make it to this place, definitely recommend a visit!!!!
