We arrived on a Friday afternoon in July around 1:00 PM. There is plenty of parking. They weren’t very busy, and we were immediately taken to a table. There are lots of tables and bar seating. The inside much more decorative than it looks from outside. Service was good although the plates could have been picked up a bit quicker. We all ordered a draft beers. My spouse had the Dragon roll. I ordered the Shrimp Teriyaki Lunch box. I asked for light teriyaki sauce and subbed a Philadelphia Roll for the California Roll. There was an upcharge of $2.00. Our friend got the Hibachi Lunch Chicken and Shrimp. The food arrived fairly quickly was plated nicely. The small salad had crisp lettuce but too much ginger dressing for my tastes. We all enjoyed our choices. If you have a hankering for Japanese food, this will hit the spot.

We stopped by on our way through Franklin. We ordered tempura and a spicy tuna roll for an appetizer. Tempura was very good however the spicy tuna left much to be desired. The rice was dry and a bit crunchy and the tuna was off colored we ordered hibachi teriyaki steak and fillet with shrimp for dinner. This part of the meal was delicious will cook and prepared with a nice portion size. Service was excellent and spot on. With everything else being so good. I would attempt a another try on the sushi in case it was just an off day.

Ugh I wanted to love this place. We drove 45 minutes at the recommendation of a server in Georgia. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was exceptional. The food was meh. The asparagus and dumpling appetizers were good. The sushi was not fresh and the rolls were SO overfilled with rice. The rice to other ingredients ratio was way off and just ruined it. I ate the good stuff out of the middle and ended up with a plate piled high of just rice.

I came here with my partner the day Sakura moved to its new location. We had never been to the old location despite driving past it so many times. The new location is really clean and spacious, and has great decor! We got a chicken tempura roll to share, with eel sauce on the side, and I got the chicken teriyaki dinner with noodles on the side. My partner got the clear soup as an appetizer, and I got a salad with ranch dressing as the precursor to my meal. The salad was good, but it was watery. The ranch was great, but there was a little bit of water at the bottom of the bowl, which made for a soggy salad. The chicken tempura roll was absolutely delightful! I’ve never had a cooked roll before, and I don’t eat fish, so this roll was awesome to have. It was perfectly balanced, and I felt that it didn’t even need the eel sauce on it. Finally, my chicken teriyaki meal was pretty good. It was a lot of food! The vegetables seemed like they weren’t seasoned, which was an interesting choice. The chicken itself was flavorful and sort of spongey which was interesting. The noodles that came on the side were good, although I wish they had more flavor. Our server was Meagan, and she was fantastic. She was very attentive and understanding of the fact that we don’t normally visit sushi places! Overall, we really enjoyed this place and would be back again to try more of the menu.

Gyoza was delicious! Hibachi was good too; our filet was cooked perfectly, but the fried rice was a little bland. We went for an early dinner arriving shortly after they opened and were seated immediately. Our appetizer and soup/salad came out quickly, but our dinners took a while, which was surprising since they weren’t very busy.

This had been an amazing place for sushi for several years, and I had previously given them a well deserved 5 star review but since moving into the new building they have drastically reduced the quality of the sushi they make and significantly smaller portions but added more garnishes to give them impressions of better quality. The sushi rolls weren’t even symmetrical and had just a thin layer of rice on the outside like they were running out and trying to stretch it to last the rest of the night and a roll that’s supposed to be lightly seared (the crazy salmon) wasn’t seared at all and the salmon was very pale. The calamari portion was half the amount that it used to be. We just ate because we had waited for so long we didn’t want to wait another 45-60 minutes for a remake or have the server be reprimanded by management if we complained but did ask the server if there were new owners because it was such a drastic difference. Several other long time customers I have talked to have also said that they have significantly gone down hill since the move which really sucks since it’s been one of our favorite date night choices for 5 years having to go 9 months without sushi and then finding it to be so far off once I could finally eat there again and that Crazy Salmon roll I loved so much seems to be unique to them. Also every time we have gone in they have had completely different servers so it seems like the staff are treated poorly by the management and I hope the kitchen is cleaner than the bathrooms.

We absolutely LOVE this restaurant. The atmosphere is calming, the food is fantastic, the wait staff is friendly and it’s affordable. Sakura is our go to restaurant for sushi, the best around our little town … in our opinion.
Update: The new location is BRILLIANT and the place looks fantastic! On top of all that was said prior, the parking is perfect! We will be eating here more often.

Food was fresh and delicious. The bar was very slow with drinks and it wasn’t a busy night. We had to make the same request multiple times before we got refills on cokes or sauces. Would go back because food was so yummy but wouldn’t order drinks from the bar.
