I hadn’t eaten here in a while, but to my surprise, it was good and reasonable. I had the #2 combination plate with green chile. It came with a beef and cheese enchilada, as well as a taco, rice, and beans. To my surprise, I also had a choice between a guacamole salad and a tamale. I chose the guacamole salad. I can definitely say that this combo filled me up, unlike other local places where you pay more and still leave hungry.

2nd time eating Here and this time was just ok. It was somewhat busy but the waitress an older lady was super rushed and clearly irritated. The young bus boy wasn’t able to do much but clear tables and wipe menus…when someone asked for chips n salsa he said I’m sorry I can’t the waitress will do it. The food was hot and tasted good but the portions this time were alot smaller.

You should absolutely stop in to Oscar’s if you pass through town! The beers are served in chilled glasses and the plates are roasting hot out of the oven. Oscars was so good we came into this quality, no-frills spot two nights in a row after long days out on the nearby dunes. I had the combo picante one night – (carne adobada is to *die* for) and then a bowl of perfectly-spicy menudo the following night. Flavors are bold, portions big and hot, and menu has a great deal to choose from. Affordable, delicious — not to be missed! Thank you Oscars for some great grub!

Oscar’s is short in any kind of fancy but the food is really tasty. You can tell because a lot of locals eat here. The only let down was the margaritas, they were uninspired with a touch of dish wash. I would not repeat that, but once again, the food was good.

Do yourself a favor and skip Oscars. Much better food and service anywhere…fast food chains are much better. Very poor quality food soaked in grease. Service was horrible…owner/manager is extremely rude! Food was heated up…nothing fresh as the kitchen was dark…..

Ver good Mexican restaurant in this area. I Highly recommend it if you are in Alamosa.
Authentic food and service was really good too, they have a nice vibe and play latin music, mostly Mexican artists, of course.
Their portions are big, so keep it in mind when you order and enjoy!!!
