Fun little wine and book shop that serves by the glass or bottle and has happy hour 4pm-7pm even on weekends. They have welcoming, friendly staff and several tables inside and on a back patio. Although the sunsets are great here, their most entertaining feature may be their little dogs.

Kaye and Chicken are the best little wine connoisseurs this side of the Mississippi! Such a fun spot to mingle with locals while enjoying a glass of bubbles or any of the other “by the glass” options that rotate regularly. If you have a chance to attend one of the food pop-ups or special tasting events you will not be disappointed. It’s a little shop with a lotta heart and we are so lucky to have it in our little town!

My wife and I absolutely love Kaye and Best Little Wine! Solid selection available. Inside seating as well as a patio. Beer and NA wines for those who prefer either of those routes.
There is a wine for every taste and budget, and Kaye is incredibly knowledgeable/helpful if you feel your enology and viticulture lacking.

Not just a clever name, it is the best! Best Little Wine is one of my favorite places to grab a glass or a few bottles. Kaye always helps me find a great wine to pair with whatever I’m making for dinner. Plus, you get to pet Chicken. The tasting classes are alway fun too!

I love driving out to Lockhart for a different night out from Austin. Even a daytime adventure. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Just go and experience it for yourself and you’ll understand. Then you’ll find yourself wanting to get on here and do the same dang thing I’m doing right now. The owner is just awesome and very welcoming. Food is fabulous. Not what I’d expect to experience in a small Texas town but that and the square is a great hang.

Love, love, love this place. We found it by accident when looking for a liquor store. Ended up staying for a couple of hours, chatting with locals, and watching a parade of tiny dogs. Great atmosphere and service. Highly recommend. Check out @meetchickenhawkins, he stole the show.
